Naming the most rabbid Fan-bases

Post by Majin Gojira »

At some point, people become so obsessed with a certain fandom that a label is put on them, what are the labels you've encountered/know about?

I'll post some of the ones I know of (if they are not repeated) in a little bit. I want to see what each group is called as far as you all know...
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

"God! Are you so bored that you enjoy seeing us humans suffer?! Why can't you let this poor man live happily with his son! What kind of God are you, crushing us like ants?!" - Kyoami, Ran

*Sigh* As much as I hate to admit it, there are some rabid Weberites. I feel they would get wiped out by the GE, but be able to fight ST and B5 on a slight technological superiority. I don't think that makes me a rabid Weberite.

Well, when it comes to fantasy novels, there are....

Tolkienists (also known as Bilbo-Thumpers)
Goreans (fans of the Gor novels by John Norman)
Lovecraftians (OK, Lovecraft is more of a horror author than a fantasy author, but he cooperated closely with Robert E.Howard)
"Hi there, would you like to have a cookie?"

"No, actually I would HATE to have a cookie, you vapid waste of inedible flesh!"

40Kers. Most commonly found screaming, and I quote,
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!

But that might be some other random group.

In all honesty, I would say the most rabid fans belong to the Oakland Raiders, some of them look like they are sci fi....

Fundies :P

As for some other...random Marvel Zombies, some anime fans...etc

Pretty much any popular series has it share of fanatics, that honestly do very little for the series they love in general.

Names, damnit, which ones have you encountered that actually have a group name?

40K is sci-fi (of a sort), not fantasy.

By the way, when it comes to gamers, there are:

Warhammerists. (this actually applies to fans of all Games Workshop games, not just Warhammer!!)
Magic: The Gathering Addicts.
Pokémaniacs.
D&Ders.
MERPers.
Kindergoths. (this apply to anyone who was introduced to RPGs by White Wolf systems, whether they are goths or not!!)

"No, actually I would HATE to have a cookie, you vapid waste of inedible flesh!"

Fivers = Babylon5 fans, just a generaly sad bunch of people. :D
Cult of Raistlin = Uber-magic user fans, just generaly annoying.
Otakus = Anime fans, weird people with bizarre taste. :)
.50BMGs = People that are convinced that the .50 Browning Machine Gun round is the ultimate sniping round in ANY situation. (I'm serious, one of these lives right next door)

Americian Otakus are weak. Go to Japan to find the truly disturbed.
I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!
