New Clone Wars Trailer
I just learned that Star Wars.com, has a new trailer.
I thinks it's looking good except for the whole Jabba's son thing (Tatooine: Hey guys I'm relevant again!). I'm seeing a lot of clones and droids, which should make all of us dozen or so talifans happy.
There's also a pretty cool preview called The Clone Wars: Epic Battles.

It looks good. I like the animation style as well, though I hear some people are having a problem with it.
When was Tattooine not relevant?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Hey, guess what Karen. Looks like the Hutts are the important third faction, not the Mandos.
More seriously, eh. While it's not unreasonable that the Republic should care about Jabba, any little helps, is that really an adequate use of the time of two important generals?

I like that it establishes the Hutts as a clan and not a species. That just fucked up a whole shit load of EU. But of course now Jabba has a son. GL giveth and GL taketh away.NecronLord wrote:Hey, guess what Karen. Looks like the Hutts are the important third faction, not the Mandos.

The problem is that it fucks up some of the best of the EU, the Han solo trilogy. (Not just Darksaber crap, which copied Durga from the Han solo books).havokeff wrote:I like that it establishes the Hutts as a clan and not a species. That just fucked up a whole shit load of EU. DEATH, at this point, I want the whole EU trashed. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Well, actually it is the other way around; Durga was invented for Darksaber, then transplanted to the (new) Han Solo trilogy via Shadows of the Empire...DEATH wrote:The problem is that it fucks up some of the best of the EU, the Han solo trilogy. And am I dreaming, or are people over there deliberately trying to kriff up the continuity? Anakin's Secret Apprentice? Jaaaay... And apparently the Hutts are not a species anymore...

It's not a "secret" apprentice by any means. IIRC the Togruta kid is assigned to him specifically after he reaches knighthood.
So far so good to me, i'm liking the scale of the battles being shown so far. The Jabba thing isn't so bad seeing as how the continuity has already treated the Hutts as a somewhat important neutral faction in the war, i'll have to see it first.

Which G-canon source names Hutts as a species? T-canon takes precedence over C-canon as per Chee.Darth Hoth wrote:General Schatten wrote:I just learned that Star Wars.com, has a new trailer.

Of course they can, if they have his permission. For that matter, so can Traviss, since she has LFL's. Does this mean I have to like either case or cannot complain about them?Mange wrote:Seeing that George Lucas has been heavily involved in the CW series, I think they may kriff up whatever he wants.
That was me being sarcastic and alluding to the fact that she is a recent insert pretty much crammed into the canon, that has never been mentioned before or after and is included for KEWLness.Where is it specified that Ahsoka is Anakin's secret apprentice?
Once again, they are perfectly within their rights to do whatever they kriffing like. This still does not mean that I also have to like it or cannot complain about it, however.Which G-canon source names Hutts as a species? T-canon takes precedence over C-canon as per Chee.

Well, there's this thing called magnitude, a maximum of 3 million soldiers in a galactic-wide conflict is certainly greater in inherent idiocy than Yoda placing a padawan under Anakin for unknown reasons. So the question is does your reasoning for throwing a tantrum over a change in continuity have enough merit for us to take you seriously? As far as I can tell, that's a big negative, little buddy.Darth Hoth wrote:Of course they can, if they have his permission. For that matter, so can Traviss, since she has LFL's. Of course, here's a hideous prospect; it's by one of his unfortunate humanoid slaves... Nah. I'm just kidding with you. I don't think that one's going to happen...

I am not saying the two are equal; all I am saying is that using the "George Lucas approves, so there is no problem" approach is very similar to the "TRAVISS IZ T3H CANNON SO STFU!!!111" Fandalorian attitude that one frequently encounters when one strays too close to their nests. If it is to be criticised on grounds of logic, maintaining of previous canon or suspension of disbelief, it does not really matter all that much to me whether a particular item is C-, G-, or T-tagged.General Schatten wrote:Well, there's this thing called magnitude, a maximum of 3 million soldiers in a galactic-wide conflict is certainly greater in inherent idiocy than Yoda placing a padawan under Anakin for unknown reasons. Feel free to take my reasoning however you want; this is a question of personal opinion, where no one can be inherently right. The item in question itself is in the canon now, so I am required to accept it like the rest of us, in any case.

My blog, please check out and comment! http://decepticylon.blogspot.comI thought the preview was okay.
I thought it was odd that the Clonetroopers and all the tech stuff look pretty similar to the movie version but most of the other characters look kind of freaky.
Yoda, for one, looked horrible.
Dooku was strange but I kind of liked him anyway. Other than that it was a very weird style choice to go for. It's like half stylized half not.

Re: New Clone Wars Trailer
Then you need to shut the fuck up; since you want to disregard the canon hierarchy. The fact of the matter is, Lucas owns Star Wars, when he says his shit (G-Canon: All Lucas products or taken directly from Lucas' products) overrides Karen's then bully for the inclusionists. Karens bullshit is not canon because G-Canon sources specifically state an intergalactic war including Curtis Saxtons low-tier G-Canon books, which describe Acclamators as being full (16k troop complement). For there to be three million Clone Troopers, there'd need to be a maximum of 187.5 total, which RotS blows right the fuck out of the water.Darth Hoth wrote:I am not saying the two are equal; all I am saying is that using the "George Lucas approves, so there is no problem" approach is very similar to the "TRAVISS IZ T3H CANNON SO STFU!!!111" Fandalorian attitude that one frequently encounters when one strays too close to their nests. Re: New Clone Wars Trailer
Why do people always think that I support Traviss whenever I criticise Lucas? I deplore her wanktardries as deeply as anyone else here; in this case, I was arguing against stupid argumentation alone. The original matter was one of opinion and purely artistic taste, not one of canon hierarchy; I was always clear that I would not disregard elements just because I did not like them. And as a sidenote, your argument does not dispel the various other stupidities (in Legacy, for example), although I wish it would.General Schatten wrote:Then you need to shut the fuck up; since you want to disregard the canon hierarchy. Wait... the Saxton books are G-canon? I thought that part of the hierarchy was films only, with all books going into the C-canon?

No one said you did, I'm pointing out why the circumstances are different, dumbshit. Lucas owns the franchise, Karen does not. It's like trying to compare an abortion to infanticide. One has more rights because of their status.Darth Hoth wrote:Why do people always think that I support Traviss whenever I criticise Lucas? Again, it's not my intention to get rid of stupidities in Star Wars. Do you mean Legacy of the Force or Legacy? The original matter was one of opinion and purely artistic taste, not one of canon hierarchy; I was always clear that I would not disregard elements just because I did not like them. And as a sidenote, your argument does not dispel the various other stupidities (in Legacy, for example), although I wish it would.
Last I'd heard the ICS and Into the Worlds are very low G-Canon, since they are extrapolations from the movies rather than just completely different stories.Wait... the Saxton books are G-canon? I thought that part of the hierarchy was films only, with all books going into the C-canon?
As far as I know Canon Hierarchy remains:
G-Canon: Movies, Novelizations, and any manuals directly used for the movies.
T-Canon: The Clone Wars and Unknown Live-Action Series.
C-Canon: Books, Games, Comics, and Tech Manuals on EU related materials.
A Certain Clique, HAB, The Chroniclers
Well...what has been the established name of Jabba's race/species? Hutts. Now Hutt is being referred to as a clan. It's not exactly a giant leap in logic to say GL just fucked up the EU and now Jabba has a new species name and Hutt is the name of his crime syndicate or at least a clan of his own race.Darth Fanboy wrote:Because some people have decided to take a very strict interpetation of the term "Hutt Clan" methinks.Anguirus wrote:Uhhh...what about that trailer established Hutts as not a species?

Lucas doesn't seem to be keeping consistent even with the movies. In TPM Panaka calls the Hutts "an alliance of gangs," implying that Hutt is simply a title, yet the context it's used in ROTJ (not to mention the "Huttese" language) really stretches the credulity of that, unless it's both the title and the name of the species.
