Gotten back into playing SuperPower again, and it's eating up all my time. It's 2020, and my Brazilian empire has conquered Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Australia, Japan, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. Meanwhile Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Madagascar, and Saudi Arabia have all been signed to strategic alliances, either by rigging the nation's elections and making them think they signed of their own free will, or by smashing them flat and installing a puppet regime. I bring in so much loot from my conquered territories that I've been able to suspend all taxes within Brazil itself and still post a surplus of a couple trillion per year.

The United States is suffering due to years of indirect economic warfare conducted against them, their energy supply drastically diminished due to my squashing of Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. The western part of Russia is a poisoned wreck, thanks to my rigging the elections in some Eastern European shithole and seizing control, handing them some biochemical ICBMs under the table, and having them let fly. The patsy nation was nuked off the face of the earth, of course, but nobody ever realized I was behind it all. I haven't had much effect on China yet, but when the time comes I can instigate a war between them and the diminished Russia, and pounce on them as they're busy pummeling the Ruskies.

Just for the hell of it, I saved my game and then basically pissed in NATO's face. The US hit occupied Mexico hard, but the entire alliance couldn't make headway in Brazil itself. South Korea and South Africa are my next targets, I think.

(Yeah, I know. Invasions of places like Japan and Australia could never go down in the real world without the US & Europe jumping in and kicking ass, but the AI plays like a pussy. It used to be way too aggressive, and the world would always get destroyed once the AI countries all decided to nuke one another. They just overcorrected with the patch.)

It's still far from perfect, but it's very engaging. You can start WW3, or cobble together a dirty little tinpot empire in Africa, or make Switzerland into a war machine. hehe
