They brought back the Monster (in batroid form). That was my favorite destroid from the original show.

What's up with the VB-6, anyway, such as how does its name (kenihhi-monster) render into English from Katakana?
Actually, it's the Koenig (German for King I believe) Monster. This thing has existed as far back as the Macross VFX-2 Playstation game from 1999. There's even a 1/100 scale toy of it.

Well, enjoy the VB-6 in the VFX-2 opening. Just think, you'll get to see in CG that's better than a 9 year old PSX game.

Oh man

Episode 8 is gonna rock hard. This episode is one massive buildup. It had some cute moments with Nanase forming the first Ranka fan club and Ozuma reluctantly agreeing to let Ranka sign on as a singer. Overall a lot of cute and nice moments. Also the name of the SMS ship is Macross Quarter.

Haha. I'm a bit too eager. Yeah we're only on episode 6 now. 7 is gonna be the sweet battle episode. And look at what the SMS have in their ship.

Hot shit! Are they the same design as the shipkiller missles that Super/Strike VF-1s used to use??

Man, Ozma must be a real big Fire Bomber fan. He called their attack plan PLANET DANCE! Also notice that he designated his target using the same eye tracking system seen in Macross Zero. I guess the retcon is sticking. I fell bad for Pedro the drone. We hardly knew ye. Also we see Destroids all along the hull of the Macross Quarter. And man, Bobby is one hell of a giant battleship pilot. It takes real skill to pull a GERWALK mode in a giant robot.

While I question the wisdom of using your flight deck as a tower shield, that was the possibly best thing I've ever seen.
Spoiler
Was that tune the Varja VF pilot was playing from Macross Zero? It sounds really familiar. We never did find out what happened to Shin and Sara, I can see the humanoid Varja being their descendants.

He's not Varja. He's working for that dude with the giant ring. Also he was playing Ranka's song. He's probably her real brother or something. Also did anyone notice the Destroids on the Macross Quarter? They look like Destroid Cheyenne kitbashes that used both optional arms and stuck them together. Looks like Satelight is re-using models haha.

Ah that's what I get for not waiting for a translation, my Japanese is sorely lacking.

The Destroids were great, the battle reminded me of nBSG with all the AA flak they were throwing up.

Episode seven was awesome, but I groaned when Sheryl shouted LISTEN TO MY SONG! I really could've done without that.

They looked like Tomahawks with Cheyenne arms and smaller radar. They did have the Cheyenne's little legs bunker though. Anyway, Episode 7 was eye and earcandy. About time too. Oh, and the Koenig Monster rules.

I'm a little irked at the next episode preview. Also, why aren't they looking for Colony-21? Was it destroyed? Interesting that Galaxy isn't a 'New Macross' class as well, like 7 and 25. Guess we won't find out next week, which is a 'high school' episode.

Oh. And whatever happened to Sheryl's Earring when Alto bailed out of his plane?

Just some more screen shots.

Macross Galaxy It was launched a few years before the Frontier. It is a colony where technological innovation and the populace tend to have implants. Watch Grace answer a cell phone call IN HER BRAIN!

VF-27. No pet name yet, but it does have NUNS and Galaxy markings.

Galaxy's support fleet is also really different from Frontier's, which seems to have a lot of similar ships to what the Macross-7 fleet had. Which is sorta odd. Why are they swapping designs all over? Is Galaxy more Zentraedi-oriented or something?

Another observation: 'Quarter' is apparently named that way because it's 400 meters long, if gg's subs are at all right. So I guess that makes her a really small cousin to the Battle Section-types. Even with the entirely unnecessary humanoid mode :P

Also, If the Vajra are in any way, shape or form tied to the Protodevlin, I will cry.

The official explanation for the Macross Quarter is that its a quarter the size of the New Macross Class Battle ships. Which is also why it can move really fast by comparison. The Macross Galaxy does not have any Zentradi citizens. Which is why Sheryl was so surprised to see one.

Quite the opposite; Sheryl mentioned that before coming to Frontier she had never seen full sized Zentradi.

Did I miss what happened with Galaxy's main fleet and colony ship? All we saw was the attempt to save a cruiser and destroyer.

VF-27 looks a lot like the 'Villain' VFs used in Macross 7...

The Galaxy appears to be [url=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/ ... galaxy.jpg[substaintially damaged[/url] in this shot.

Oddly enough, a lot of people are saying that the VF-27 looks like the Sv-51 from Macross Zero. In reality, it's very similar to the VF-25 which itself is similar to the Sv-51 in some areas. But yeah, the evil ones are usually purple. It's just such an evil color.

I just saw the latest episode. Actually, "saw" isn't the right word. I feel more like I had it injected directly into my veins! Best episode ever! It would make all the HAB members' heads explode!
