Two hours till showtime for the seventh episode of the final season.

But where do Hector and Vector factor into the re-imagining?

Using my awesome predictive powers, I am voting this episode a 5 while it is still 48 minutes from starting.

Let's see if I'm right!

Given that most of the season has thus far been barely watchable crap, I'm guessing not.

Reasons why Tigh would call Weapons Hold:

1. He's a Cylon, and 'felt' the damage or Wrongness.
2. He saw the BaseStar sitting there in the middle of the fleet, and noted no signs of Raiders launching or Weapons armed.
3. A Hunch.

2 is a perfectly good reason to explain his actions, although looking at Adama and saying "I don't know... We got lucky" with that look of shock on his face did work.

But Dammit... they took the LEG! Without knocking him out!

Well, thats a hell of a way to start an alliance

A serious case of unintended consequences -- and Athena, holy shit!

meh. Didn't like it that much, but it's good to see something happening for once.

This season has the same problem as the miniseries. It's all buildup, and there's no payoff, no action.

I want scenes of raiders and vipers dueling dammit!

Once the attack on the Resurrection Hub starts, we might finally get to see some action.

3/5

Wow that was a crazy yet fantastic episode all around. The only thing that bugged me was the lack of any disciplinary aftermath for Anders shooting Gaeta, which was VERY annoying considering Gaeta was used (extremely well) to set the atmosphere throughout the episode.

Definately a 5 in my book.

Athena's caught the crazy!

Seriously...what the fuck? What's wrong with her? Has she forgotten which of the sixes was actually sharing the goddamn vision with them? It was Caprica. You shot the wrong Cylon, and the one most on your fucking side. And all because she suddenly got STUPID.

Writer 1: "Ok, I'm having a problem. We need our characters to do X, but it seems kind of odd that they would do that."
Writer 2: "I know, make them retarded."
Writer 1: "Great idea!"

In other news, the fleet knows a little more now. Roslin is trapped aboard a baseship with Centurions about to riot. Kara is still insane. Gaeta won't shut the hell up.

Things happened. The story progressed a little, and set up obvious things that are going to bite everyone in the ass later. For Season 4 Galactica (rated different than seasons 1 and 2 simply because this season would likely be below par every week), I give it a 3.5. Guess I'll round to 4.

I loved what Roslin told Tory. :D
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

To be fair, Athena's model never seemed to be that rational. Almost child-like in the way they handle their emotions.

She went through all kinds of shit trying to prove she was on their side. She even comments on just how hard it was, how much she worked to gain the trust of the fleet (or at least Adama). She does all that, and in one fell swoop, blows it all away with some really retarded, poorly thought out action that has no logic whatsoever to it.

It just screams writers fiat to me. They needed her to destroy any chance of the sane Cylon helping to regain control of their very tense situation. "I know, let's have them randomly meet, and then have Athena shoot Six just for looking at her briefly!"

These random character actions really piss me off.

there was some evidence presented that would make Baltar appear to be a cylon. i feel like taht is a deliberate mislead

Is there really a mystery regarding Roslin? Shes got the half cylon blood in her taht cured her cancer, it also allowed her to project.

On some level Athena still trusts the chief, I wonder if she could sense he was one of the five. unfortuantely if we try to take that as indicative of a pattern it means that Tory and Six are both attracted to baltar because hes a cylon, Zander might like Starbuck because shes a cylon, or god help us all Karl Agathon is the fifth one.

If it is kendra Shaw i will be very very dissappointed. Good episode overall though they moved the plot forward

Could Kara Thrace being the harbringer of Death mean that literally she causes the Cylons to have to die, because she helpeddestroy the ressurection hub?

Lee lacks balls in a suit. he's arguing with president Crazy and losing ground, i don't think she made one really coherent argument during the whole argument they had, but her personality just cowed him into submission, that and Gaeta's singing.

"Kara Thrace will lead the human race to it's end." To quote the Bentusi hybrid (Razor). I think the prophecy refers to that.

Anders shot a mutineer. He cant get in trouble for that.
As for Helo taking command even if an XO is justified in taking command they still get court marshaled and Helo turned out to be wrong. Helo and the rest of the crew could very easily have ended up on trial for mutiny.
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

The miniseries had a huge action payoff at the end IMO.

Hmm, I'm torn on this episode. It was great on a lot of levels, but...WHY the FUCK did Athena shoot Natalie? Like, it BOTHERS me how little sense that made. They have done an okay job with explaining certain crazy things in subsequent episodes (i.e. this one finally addressed how fucking insane these opera house visions are, and had the Quorum of Twelve seriously questioning why they are letting Roslin potentially Janeway the fleet straight to hell), so I'll wait the two weeks, but...damn.
