Anatomy of a Cylon Centurion

Post by Vympel »

Page 1

Page 2

A look at the CGI rendering of original, 1979 version of the Cylon Centurion's seen in all their glory on nBSG Razor. High quality pics, very cool. Includes the "soldier", "pilot" and gold "command" Centurions.

(also includes an nBSG "modern" Centurion staring one down :))

Thanks for the link! I had seen a few of those images floating around the net before (the Centurion staredown was my Facebook profile pic for awhile!) but not in such beautiful detail. And of course it was the commentary that really made them. :D

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

Wow, the oBSG Centurion's lower leg is massive compared to that of the nBSG Centurion. How tall are the nBSG and oBSG Centurions?

The Centurions on the original show were something like 6'5" on average I believe, so the nBSG versions are over 7' tall.

Is it me or does the Rifle in the second link look like a modded M-60?

Wow, that's pretty damn tall. I'm surprised their heights aren't mentioned in their BSGwiki pages.

This is on the verge of a (awesome) spamfest! And when I'm the one saying that... :D

Do the old-school Centurions ever take on the neo-Centurions? I'm only into season 1 of nBSG and have limited knowledge, but goddamn that would be awesomeng nonetheless!

The Cylon War-era Centurions only appear in the Razor telefilm, in wartime flashbacks and as an isolated faction during the 2/3rds-Season 2 present.

So no, the two generations of Centurions never interact on screen.

I think the old Centurions would have the advantage in a fight, since they still possess sentience. :P

When the Colonials created the Cylons, they gave them sentient AI, which is what allowed them to rebel and start the First Cylon War. The Humanoid Cylons later made new Centurions whose sentience was inhibited, behaving like drones with little to no allowance for independent thought.

So basically... the forefathers of those humaniform Cylons, and the original big daddies, were those silly-looking dudes in cheap shiny suits? (that is so awesome) :)
