xbox 360 or ps3
Been thinking of picking one of these up and since I like RPG more than anything what is the better one to pick up.

No to the first
Live in Germany so imports are a normal occurance
third on is a bit difficult as there are games on both sides that look interesting such as the new final fantasy that will be out soon for the ps3 but there are several for xbox 360 that look good as well.

if by soon you mean 2009new final fantasy that will be out soon for the ps3
well i know that even the PS3 is region free, there was a crackdown on import, play-asia for instance doesn't ship anything playstation brand related to europe (damn you sony for that dodonpachi dai-ou-jou box i wanted )Live in Germany so imports are a normal occurance
MSFT is more laxist but there is no clear policy for the region coding

Unless you know people with 360s or have some huge boner to play rubbish like Mass Effect (which'll be out on PC anyway), buy a PS3. The import thing is annoying, but it's still possible, whereas bugger all good 360 games are importable (except CoD4, strangely). Actually, all the 360 RPs are on PC already or soon. PC version of Fable and ME even has extra pay-for shit built in.
Fable 2 isn't 'supposed to be good'. Peter Molyneux says it's good, and he says EVERYTHING is good.

If you actually like Final Fantasy in all its ludicrous turn based silliness, get Lost Odyssey. Hell I liked it and I usually despise 'spreadsheet with eye candy' JRPG combat (to be fair the ring system is a neat psychological trick; it makes it feel vaguely like you're playing an actual fighting game even though you're actually just doing a simple timing exercise).
Actually, while people might poo-poo the 360 for not having any RPGs or whatever, does PS3 have any right now? 360 might not have any GOOD ones, but it's got plenty available right now.
Maybe you could buy a 360 to play their existing games then sell it later, but before the warranty expires and it explodes?
