One Day They'll Speak Portuguese in America (HoI LP, 56k die

I can also recomend puppeting, but I would say annex argentina and then garison the hell out of it. I've played a Brazil conquers all before, and Latin America has wicked dissent that never goes away. Keep Argentina to increase your number of research slots! Also please send diplomats to the US so they don't jump you. They do garuntee everyone elses independence in the area, I believe.

America, like Britain, gets a peacetime -50% IC modifier. Left alone, it goes away in stages in the "Gearing up for war" events. if you get into a war, it goes away straight away.TC Pilot wrote:War in general pretty much pushes American IC up about 150.
Lots of early diplomacy and an alliance with Republican Spain can get you your early war at minimal belligerence cost, IC fans...
Well I gave up on Poland. Tried a new game as Japan (focusing on land instead of naval)
(Manchukuo and Siam are puppets)
Situation in europe:
Republican Spain won the civil war, annexed Portugal. Is in war with Germany but no fighting on either side
Finland lost the winter war and is now a puppet of the SU
Germany in the middle of invading SU. I'm not in a military alliance with them, but I plan to attack the SU in the back

Hmm didn't even noticed that.Mongoose wrote:
Why did Britain annex Norway?
Anyway, things suddenly started to look grim in september 1943. USA declared me and got a bridgehead in northern china just when I find myself out of oil (didn't help I built mech infantry like crazy). Seems like Germany is loosing ground in the west as well
Whats a T.C.?

If the game's anything like history then Britain did it to close off the supply of Swedish iron to Germany. Historically Germany invaded Norway for fear of that happening.Mongoose wrote:

In the game, due to the way that the trading system works, Germany could still get Swedish iron even if Norway were occupied by Britain. Britain would have to occupy Sweden itself to stop the flow of resources.Raxmei wrote:If the game's anything like history then Britain did it to close off the supply of Swedish iron to Germany. What surprises me the most is that normally the British just kind of sit on their island. I didn't know that they could venture back into Europe so early, let alone succeed.
I've never played as Japan, but I've gotten involved in their wars as Germany. My suggestion in China would be to bomb/torpedo the crap out of the American convoys coming in to supply their armies in China, and then try to slowly drive them back into the ocean. In the short term for oil, I would recommend just buying a bunch from a country like Venezuela.wautd wrote:Anyway, things suddenly started to look grim in september 1943. Indonesia =/= Phillipines.Vendetta wrote:They have a couple of provinces there to start with. The rest is all Dutch.
That would actually be an incredibly interesting game, since a British invasion of the Phillipines would draw the US into a war against the Allies.

China's vast wastelands are ruining your Transport capacity (mucks up stuff like org regain and move speed as I recall). You need to get rid of all that vast wasteland in china. I suggest you start handing over worthless provinces to one of your puppets (make sure you leave a route through china to india, you don't want to end up giving Siam indian territory).
China is a hotbed of unrest and general stroppiness, and has crappy infrastructure to boot. As noted, this fucks your TC up the arse with a pole, meaning you need to hugely overproduce supplies in order to keep your armies in supply, (You'll note that you're at about 200% TC, which means you're probably having to spend close to twice the amount of IC on supply you would otherwise, and divert many more ships to supply convoys than otherwise necessary), and you need to garrison the provinces to stop irritating partisans popping up and causing grief.wautd wrote:Why?Vendetta wrote:More importantly, puppet China. Also, when you occupy a province, you only get something like 15% IC from it, max, and about the same in manpower (which, as noted, you have to fritter away on supplies anyway), and only 25% of it's resource production. A puppet government gets 100% IC, Manpower, and resources, and when they have 1000 or more in any resource they send you all the excess. They'll keep spitting out units as well, which, since they're a puppet, you get mil control over, and can use to hold the line of your advance whilst your elite home produced troops with the best generals take territory, and you won't have to supply them as long as they have a route to their own capital..
This is particularly useful for China, which has an ungodly amount of manpower. A unified puppet China is horrendously powerful.

Guess I need to find an older savegame then.Vendetta wrote:China is a hotbed of unrest and general stroppiness, and has crappy infrastructure to boot.
