What if Dominion was a SW faction
Ok this is not meant to be a "Dominion vs SW" but just if Dominion didn't exist in ST but was taken in the SW universe instead of ST.
Lets say an SW author added them in the EU, their territory could be small as Corporate Sector Authority, equal many star systems, I think 30,000 systems would be good, laying in the outskirt of the galaxy.
It could be a very cool thing to see what would happen. Dominion are a aggressive expansionist empire in ST, but in SW they would have to be toned down a bit at first, since the Empire was controlling the galaxy and GE don't like rival factions. Well Dominion could have supplied the Empire with unlimited amount of clones for their armies, that is a great trade deal already
When the Empire collapsed, the demand for the clones died down, so Dominion decided to make their own clone armies and build up their fleets to huge numbers so they can rival a sector fleet or more, and try to take as much space as possible, maybe even power over the galaxy, by attempting to take over Coruscant before the Rebels do.
Well then each Dominion ship would of course have hyperdrives, and each individiual ship would be 1000x more powerful then their Trek counterpart.
The small 80 meter long attack fighters or Gunships could be equal to Corellian Gunships, armed with laser cannons and medium turbolasers, strong shielding for their size, and of course no warp nacells since they serve no purpose, so each Dominion warship would look little bit different then the Trek ones. The 762 meter long Battlecruiser could be equal to the VSD and the 1280 meter long Battleship equal to the ISD. If they had the numbers they had in ST they could pose a threat to the stability of the galaxy after the collapse of the Empire.
For some reason I find the Dominion to be a miniture GE in ST universe. It must be due to their clonings of Jem'Hadar and Vorta. But one thing removes the feeling of SW about them is the Changelings, even though they do fit in nicely somehow.
I just wanted to play with the idea, even if it look stupid.

has possibilities...
but im not good with numbers, nor the ST verse, so i consequently know shit about the dominion so maybe ill wait for the opinions of some others before i say any more

Re: What if Dominion was a SW faction
Does 1000x more powerful than Trek equal with SW ships like VSD or ISD?Dark Primus wrote:Well then each Dominion ship would of course have hyperdrives, and each individiual ship would be 1000x more powerful then their Trek counterpart.

Well, if we assume that Dominion ships, in this case, are really equal to SW ships, then they will be as threatening as any other Imperial warlords, given their numbers rival a sector fleet.
Of course, if the Dominion still adopts stupid tactics like they did in ST.....

you forget they count fighters in their fleet count and that the Entire Dominion Fleet that made it through the wormhole probably can't muster the same amount of firepower as Slave I's entire complement of seismic charges.
Seeing as how shapeshifters are discriinated against in SW and that the Empire doesnt allow anyone not living under its boot to exist, the Dominion gets wiped out overnight.

What you've created basically takes the name, and little more. Anyway, it would end up crushed within days. The Empire is not going to tolerate such a strong alien force on its boarders. But it has a massive firepower and numerical advantage.
It would also greatly boost the Empires popularity; external threats always do that, which is why modern terrorism doesn't work very well.

And you missed the point totally. I wasn't talking about the Trek Dominion I was talking about the Wars Dominion in this scenario.Darth Fanboy wrote:you forget they count fighters in their fleet count and that the Entire Dominion Fleet that made it through the wormhole probably can't muster the same amount of firepower as Slave I's entire complement of seismic charges.
The Dominion in this scenario is equal powerful as Corporate sector or something close, their ships are equal powerful to any other SW ship.
