I was always under the impression that the above the mouth fangs are more primitive ... as in the spider being forced to expose the under part of their body while preparing for a strike. I think I first heard that in a documentary on tarantulas, but that was a pritty long time ago.

I am kind of arachnophobic and when I was doing caving in Tassie those fuckers would ALWAYS manage to scare the shit out of me. You'd be squeezing through a crawl-though on your back and one of them would be staring at your face from about half a fucking inch away going: "I could totally jump into your mouth right now, or just climb onto your face, but I have fed on your fear enough, now: begone from my realm!"
That's perfectly understandable, and I doubt I'd have reacted any better to finding one of those in close quarters. Of course, anything, no matter how harmless, can cause you to run screaming in terror if you find it 3 inches from your nose.

The blue scaled 'fella' is Katie, the water-dragon. I have a few more, but they're mostly inside jokes.

She reminds me a bit of the girl who cosplays as a (I shit you not here, look it up, it's uncanny) perfect Link.

I would probably convert if Jesus rode a deinonychus around the place fighting other dinosaurs. It'd just have a high enough level of awesome to be worth the stupidity.
