Constantinople Times

Mass atrocities committed by Shepnukistan backed Militias.

Militias armed by Shepnukstani and trained by ProTec were rampaging through the Western side of Neverhood, with villages burnt to the ground, and their inhabitants killed. Scenes of chaos were reported throughout the land.

But it seems the fire has not died out in the resistance. Some were reported to have ambushed militia bands with RPG-29s and destroyed their vehicles before picking off the militia.

Shepnukistan pulls out of Beard program!

Citing the impossibility of delivering the heavy mobile launchers that are built in Shepnukistan for all of the "beard" systems to customers due to the "lockout" of the Central Sea to Nukistani shipping, as well as the mounting costs of peacekeeping and maintaining order in Neverhood, Shepnukistan is terminating it's side of the "Blackbeard" complex.

Things were far more complicated in Neverhood than first expected. ProTec rotated vetrerans from the Sultanate SIGINT and anti leadership operations into the theater. Some 10,000 contractors were scheduled to fly in, making this operation much bigger than any other single contract. (ProTec hhas around 15,000 employeees working in all of Libertopia.) They would be severely tested in Neverhood. The rebels were much better armed than almost any Libertopian band. So far the only moderately safe way to move around near the border was to use helicopters.

Neverhood Victory Army, or NVA, is reported to be slowly bringing the various partisan movements in Neverhood under it's umbrella.

The NVA, unlike most other militias that sprung up in the hitherto demilitarized nation of Neverhood, swears allegiance only to the current legal national leaders of Neverhood and operates a sizeable command structure with field uniforms.

Let's listen to what their leaders say.

Admiral Ye watched out from the bridge of his flagship as he watched the ships of Slow Convoy One plod across the great western sea. While Fast Decoy Convoy One had been intercepted and forced to turn back by the Red Technocracy, it had performed it's role in the great game admirably; drawing attention away from this convoy.

A plug aft of the sail had added 24 feet and a new compartment, packed with a pair of fifteen ton radioisotope thermal generators, filled with Plootnium-238 waste created in large quantities by UAR nuclear reprocessing. Without requiring any moving parts the devices produced just 275kw, but this was more then enough to recharge batteries while running submerged with a belt driven, rafted creep motor. Range was limited only by crew endurance, and tiny crew tool advantage of the stretch to pack in provisions for sixty days.

These were some comments heard today in Amelia Docks, as people from all over the FUN assembled to watch a sight unseen before.

A convoy numbering a grand total of 107 FCS-Large ships, ordered by the UKB and built all over the ISCA, is being assembled on the outskirts of the port. Hundreds of various tugs, launches and other ships skitter between the waiting bulkers, ferrying crews and organizing the convoy for tranfer to the UKB.

In the meantime, on the shore various events and happenings have been organized for tourists and world politicians alike, aimed at promoting the ISCA mission and products. In a press conference today, the ISCA director has thanked all the member countries for their high quality work done this year.

"We are hoping to do even greater things in 2011. The ISCA is a great organization to work in - its pursuits serve to increase prosperity for the entire world, building ships that are used for trade, rather than war."

So far the Shepnukistanis hadn't tried to shoot down any MESS maritime patrol craft, but the LSR had issued explicit instructions to keep UAVs such as Global Hawk and the Reaper far away from the convoy. The consensous of the JCS was the the Shepnukistanis probably wouldn't down a P-8 for shits and giggles, but they would almost certainly shoot down a drone.

"Preparing overflight." Oracle-3 dove down, flying over the Maryland, and began to jettison flares. He could see Shepnukistani airmen waving angrily and making various obscene gestures.

What's With All the Digging?

An in-depth investigation was launched some months back by this newspaper into the massive amount of digging that has been going on in the mountains in the Northeast of the Duchy. Massive dump trucks have been reported moving from the mountains down to the coast and back again. When the trucks reach the coast they dump their load and head back to the mountains for more. In the past 4 months the coastline has been moved out to sea by almost a mile from all of the dumping. Attempts to get close to the dig site were repeatedly thwarted by military police who have blocked off the area. Even attempted over flights of the area were turned back by military aircraft. From a distance you can see the trucks going into large cave like formations in the side of several of the mountains where they emerge later with a full load of material.

When asked, the Ministry of Defense had the following comment, "We cannot comment on any digging operations in that part of the Duchy. It is classified."

When asked, the Ministry of the Interior made the same comment.

This lead one to ask, "What's with all the digging?"
