Penny-Arcade Game: Episode 1

Post by phongn »

The actual title probably wouldn't fit, so I used this shorter one instead of "On The Rain-Soaked Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1." Now that all that is out of the way ...

Anyone play the game? I thought it was a fun little game, though a bit short (even for a $20 game). I'm still trying to complete all the little extras in the game.

I enjoyed it, myself, but I tend to enjoy most things by the PA guys, as well as most of that genre of fiction. Who doesn't enjoy comedic Lovecraftian horror combined with steampunk?

7-8 hours for 20 bucks?

Seems reasonable. I'm still yet to even play the demo, but the tales of endless backtracking put me off a little.

If your a big PA fan the Demo is worth it alone just to see a Fruit Fucker finally go to town on an orange.

I played the demo. The writing was awesome but the gameplay was tedious and repetitive. I'm not planning on buying the full thing any time soon but if Episode 2 has a demo I'll give it a whirl and see if things get any more interesting.

1600 point cards are on sale for $15 through Saturday at Targets so you can get this game essentially for $15 if the price is a sticking point.

I highly enjoyed it and will be getting every episode.

The combat system was odd at first but is quite enjoyable.
