Torchwood S3 gets a structural change.

orchwood is likely to be drastically reduced in length for its forthcoming third season.

Executive producer Julie Gardner told TV Guide: "We've decided to do a five-part mini-series, one big story that will run during one week. I wanted to make a really big noise about the show."

Gardner, who confirmed that John Barrowman will be back as Captain Jack, remained coy about any additions to the cast following the death of two regular characters in the second season finale. However, she said that fans of the show "will be pleased with the casting".

Filming for Torchwood's next season will commence in the Autumn for broadcast in early 2009. In the meantime, fans will be able to listen to a special audio adventure on BBC Radio 4 this summer.

Well, it was more or less known that was coming, nice to see it made official.

Yeah. This could either be a gasp of hope for the show or a nail in the coffin. We shall see.
