I'm already sick of the "Clinton must be VP or her voters will split" talk. Some of the people who voted for her will, but that's because they were Republicans anyway, and they never had any intention of voting Democrat.

People have already forgotten all of the "I will vote Democrat before I vote for McCain" talk from the other side. Now that McCain's been the presumptive nominee for months, you don't hear anyone talk about that any more, even though there has been a significant vote against him even in the meaningless post-clinch Republican primaries.

It's absolutely disgusting that she has managed to take virtually all of the news coverage away from Obama. By all rights the fact that a black man has been nominated by a major party for the presidency of the United States should by the top story of every newscast. Instead we have this "will she or won't she?" nonsense surrounding this horrid cunt and we can expect this to continue for the rest of the week.

Why does she get to wait until Friday and gain 4 more days of constant news coverage about her delusional refusal to get out of this fucking race even 3 days after she lost? She should have conceded last night, and every day that she goes without doing so should be seen as a direct affront to the Democratic Presidential Nominee and contempt for the vast majority of Democratic primary voters who cast their ballots for him.

The fact that this rancid twat will still be a major force in American politics after these 3 long months of deluded nonsense is a fucking shame on the Democratic party.

Well she's already taken it back according to CNN her campaing is suspended so she can keep her delegates.

Supposedly this is a multi-stage move to end her campaign and to move her supporters to Obama...

Sure.

Obama just needs to ignore her.

Say nothing.

Attack McCain and the Republicans and just make like a Presidential candidate who has won the nomination. If asked if he will offer her the VP, just say he is considering all options and redirect it back to attacking McCain. Do every possible thing to utterly ignore her.

I do think its not a bad idea to find a viable female VP other then Clinton, if there is someone good enough for the job acceptable to the party. That way you undercut the Clinton Dogma that women are not going to be represented or that Obama is not taking Women seriously and can REALLY push the 'change', the 'break from the past' position of Obama.

Offer her some bone if she wants it, like a cabinet position where her 'experience' can be of beneift, but keep her the FUCK away from the VP slot, don't offer ANY hope.

Obama should also start being aggressivly inclusive of 'Clintons' people, try to draw them in, speak to their issues, make comments about how he is so please X many people voted in this primary in each state -using a number including both Clintons and His supporters. Really try to just act -rightly- like they ARE going to support him because he is THEIR candidate.

Here's the BBC article: Link
Clinton will quit and back Obama
Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton has seen her opponent maintain his lead

Hillary Clinton will withdraw from the race to become the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, and back her rival Barack Obama, her campaign says.

On Tuesday, Mr Obama gained enough delegates to win the nomination, after the final votes of the primary season.

Mrs Clinton has still not admitted in public that she lost the contest, but on Saturday she will do so "and express her support for Senator Obama".

Mr Obama has already announced a team to help select his running mate.

Reports that Mrs Clinton was ready to concede came after she made a conference call to senior Democrats in Congress.

At a Democratic Party event in Washington, Mrs Clinton will also "express her support... for party unity", her communications director Howard Wolfson said.

Earlier, it had been announced that the event would be held on Friday, but Mr Wolfson said it had been delayed a day "to accommodate more of Senator Clinton's supporters who want to attend".

The BBC's Jane O'Brien in Washington says that as Mr Obama was claiming victory, Hillary Clinton stunned even her own supporters with a speech that offered no indication that she was giving up.

There is speculation that the delay in conceding was an attempt to position herself as a possible vice-president, our correspondent adds.

Clinton 'open'

Mr Obama's three-member panel to look for a presidential running mate comprises Caroline Kennedy, daughter of President John Kennedy, former deputy Attorney General Eric Holder and Jim Johnson.

Mr Johnson performed the same selection task for John Kerry in 2004.

"Senator Obama is pleased to have three talented and dedicated individuals managing this rigorous process," said Bill Burton, a spokesman for the Illinois senator.

"He will work closely with them in the coming weeks but ultimately this will be his decision and his alone."

Barack Obama addressing Aipac, 4 June, 2008
Mr Obama could be the first black candidate from a major political party

Earlier, Mr Obama had paid tribute to Mrs Clinton and hinted that she would play a role in any future Obama administration.

Mrs Clinton has said she would be "open" to the idea of being Mr Obama's vice-presidential running-mate.

Referring to a brief conversation he had held with his defeated rival, the Illinois senator said: "I'm very confident of how we're going to be able to bring the party together."

The Republican party's candidate, John McCain has challenged Mr Obama to take part in debates in 10 town hall meetings before August's Democratic convention, and the Obama team is said to be considering the invitation.

The final primaries of the season were held on Tuesday - with Mr Obama winning Montana and Mrs Clinton winning South Dakota.

A candidate needs 2,118 delegates to secure the nomination and Mr Obama now has the support of 2,154 delegates. Mrs Clinton has 1,919.
Note that "reports that Mrs Clinton was ready to concede came after she made a conference call to senior Democrats in Congress." It seems that Reid, Pelosi, et al did in fact sit her down and read her the riot act.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

The thing is, Clinton people are already starting to talk about how they are going to support Obama. Can't find the article, but there was one on CNN that said both McAullife and Carville basically said "We've been working for Clinton. As soon as she steps down, we're going to focus on how we get Obama into the White House"

There's more, too. Included the links, but quoting full text would make this post horrendously long.

I know it's far too late for Hillary to bring herself to it, but she really should take the hint before the party freezes her out all the way. Looks like they're already starting to do so.

Liberman(I-Israel) is not concerned with the welfare of Israel. I cannot believe anyone who promotes organizes whose stated goal is to bring about Revelation by ensuring a second Holocaust is actually concerned about the welfare of Israel. He is concerned with his own power.

No, I see no reason to let this go. He's a opportunistic jackass who needs to be slapped with a fish.

Suprise suprise...
Angry Clinton Supporters Start Rallying for McCain Online

They're mad as hell, and Hillary Clinton's supporters aren't going to take it anymore.

Some Clintonites are so mad about Barack Obama's Tuesday victory that they've launched a web site to build support to launch a lobbying group to support Republican John McCain.

"We're going to run campaign ads to defeat Obama," says Ed Hale, a 63-year-old rancher and a Clinton supporter from Wellington, Texas. "We have doctors, lawyers, CPAs, the blue bloods, and then we have rednecks like me. It's a very diversified organization."

The split illustrates the difficult task the Democratic party now faces in rallying the troops behind Obama. Open dissent within party ranks provides Republicans with openings to exploit.

Hale launched the "Hillary Clinton Supporters for John McCain" group last Saturday. The campaign claims to have 5,000 supporters, and its website visitor counter says that it has already attracted 37,8071 visitors.

"Last night, when they crowned Obama king, that's when I sent my e-mails out to people, and since then, we've gotten thousands of hits," he says.

Hale, a Vietnam veteran and a long-time Democrat, says that many of the group's supporters are Reagan Democrats, and their primary concern is foreign policy and defense. A call to the Texas Democratic Party confirmed that he was supposed to have been a delegate to the state convention this week.

He says that he wouldn't vote for Obama even if Clinton were vice president.

In addition, he says that he will not sign an online petition that former Clinton White House special counsel Lanny Davis sent out on the web Tuesday night -- calling for Obama to choose Clinton as vice president.

Rickie Banning, president of "Hillary Clinton Supporters Count Too," a website, says that she's received hundreds of e-mails from Clinton supporters who are angry at the Democratic National Committee, and who are registering as independent. Some of them say that they will vote for John McCain.

A sampling the e-mails that she sent along show that many of the supporters feel cheated.

"If you ask me, I feel sad in my heart, and I think a lot of people do, but some people are really angry," Banning says. "People feel upset, and not listened to, and a lot of people feel like they're being thrown under the bus. "

Statistics compiled by Real Clear Politics show that in terms of the popular vote, Democratic voters split evenly between Clinton and Obama, though Obama reached the delegate count necessary to win the nomination on Tuesday.

For its part, the Republican National Committee is capitalizing on Democratic party leaders' criticisms of Obama in a new web video posted to its site Wednesday.

And Matt Burns, a spokesman for the Republican National Convention, says that he's received voice mail from Clinton supporters offering to help him.

He says he sent them to McCain's website.

Particularly in this context, you could probably translate the bolded bit into, "racists who don't want a black president." Come to think of it, I've never met a self-described redneck who wasn't a little racist, even if they don't realize it or are subtle about it.

Hopefully this will be an internet only thing and will have a lower impact on the election than it might if it were more public.

Thought I don't get it. If your very leader loses fair and square and decides to support their rival, don't you follow said leader instead of insisting somehow that your "dear leader" needs your help to fight against the party that your leader is a member of.

Yes. Very much so.

They also, apparently, don't grasp the idea of voting for policies over personalities.

I'm not sure they grasp the idea of voting at all. After all it's based on the idea that if you lose you accept it.
