1. PC-Gamer Front Page Story
2. Game Informer-Front Page
3. IGN/Gamespy Front web-page plus interview and video
4. Gamespot - Front Page plus video
Or option 5
Some frigging guy I've never heard about who did nothing but insult him and gave us roughly twenty seconds of off the screen gameplay video.
yeah......
Someone's fucking someone or married/related to someone for the first damn game play form DNF to come from this source.

I've been following this on their forum, but the relavent thread is just too large to read through. From what I can see though, the guy who got the interview is a long time friend in the gaming industry.
Apparently the interview's 6 months old and a lot of what we've seen has been tweaked and polished since then.
Here's a link to the thread on their forums.

Uh, no, I don't think that's it at all.Sarevok wrote:Soo have they made more money from developing the game all these years than they would have if they released it now ?
Maybe internet ads from all the net chatter DNF generates is the reason this game will never be released...
They got their money from Max Payne.

Are you insane? It's been far worse than Daikatana for, what, five years? Daikatana was late, sucked and hyped - DNF has been famously non-existent for a fucking decade! The Yosemite Bear wrote:wait I think I can hear Romero laughing in the distance....
yes, this is looking like as bad of a clusterfuck as Diakatana....

Some day, you guys will have to give me the street word on Daikatana, because all I know about it was that it was an extremely hyped game that fell on its face so hard it left a crater. Then again, their probably isn't much else to say about it other than that.Stark wrote:Are you insane? It's been far worse than Daikatana for, what, five years? To be fair, the gap between Starcraft and Starcraft 2 was more than ten years.Stark wrote:Are you insane? It's been far worse than Daikatana for, what, five years? They didn't ANNOUNCE Starcraft 2 ten years before release, though.
My two cents on why they released it in such a strange way - they're afraid, or certain, that it will stink, and want to keep everyone else going a little longer (while still being able to say "Hey, we released gameplay video! We're making progress! HONEST!")
Ceci n'est pas une signature.
Has to be said, the video they showed doesn't jump out and make you scream "Holy shit I must have this!". I bet it will be like Prey when it comes out. Competent, a few good ideas, but ultimately uninspired. (NB. Prey was in development for 11 years.)Molyneux wrote: My two cents on why they released it in such a strange way - they're afraid, or certain, that it will stink, and want to keep everyone else going a little longer (while still being able to say "Hey, we released gameplay video! Except Prey's development stopped and restarted several times. I think the final product only took a couple of years. And Prey's gameplay looked a hell of a lot more fun than DNF's in that video.

You're leaving out the fact that Starcraft 2 development didn't start right when Starcraft 1 shipped. There is no way in hell that Starcraft 2 has been in development for anywhere close to 10 years.Molyneux wrote:To be fair, the gap between Starcraft and Starcraft 2 was more than ten years.Stark wrote:Are you insane?
