Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen

Post by Admiral Valdemar »

Maybe totally bogus. And then again, maybe not.

Anyone who gets us an SR-71 Autobot deserves some sort of prize.

The Fallen? That burning tank from WW: Dark Ages? Oh dear. Wasn't there a more obscure villain they could've picked? Kremzeek perhaps?

Jetfire with a Decepticon logo doesn't sound so weird, he was ambiguous in quite a few continuities. I'd sooner expect Soundwave to be the SR-71 though.

I'm sure those two fans of the Micromaster Combiners are wetting themselves as we speak. New gimmick line ahoy!

Jetfire as a Blackbird spy plane? Very Cool. For some reason he has a Decepticon logo, not sure why. Maybe he switched sides?
Damn it, that's the POINT of Jetfire, isn't it? Wasn't he the Decepticon scientist who was like "Damn, Starscream, you've changed", and then flies off to do some heroing?

No, "Revenge of the Fallen" as in the Decepticons who were felled in the first movie.

Also, the title has been confirmed by Hasbro.

Was there not a Transformers toy that turned into a Blackbird? I'm sure I remember one. Unless that was a Go-Bot.
"So you want to live on a planet?"
"No. I think I'd find it a bit small and wierd."

Nah, that was a Concorde. Also supersonic, but that's about the extent of the resemblance.

Both. There was a Gobot named Snoop, who transformed into a SR-71. She appeared in the cartoon, but for some reason, her toy wasn't produced in the US. (See here.)

Snapdragon is a Decepticon who transforms into a jet that resembles the SR-71. Fireshot and Vanquish are Micromaster Combiners who combined to become an SR-71.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

Now to the meat of the OP.
/film wrote:The autobots include a pair of robots called The Twins, which join together to form an Ice Cream Truck (pictured right). An ice cream truck is a great disguise for a transformer as no one would suspect. I’m guessing that one of the twins is white and the other is pink (but this is just a guess). This appears the be the coolest new addition to the autobot line-up. There’s one sequence where the Twins are speeding down a Shanghai street and split apart around a group of chinese children in the street, which should be pretty cool looking. At another point the truck crashes and the Twins split in two and have a brotherly fight. Yes, it looks like the comic tone of the original film is back.
:wtf: That is the LAMEST Transformer(s) I've ever seen or heard of. Hopefully, this will just be a plant by the producers to draw attention away from the REAL stars of the movie. Otherwise, I'm giving Grimlock a new chew toy in my next fanfic.
Also involved in the chase is a hot pink ninja style motorcycle with black highlights which turns into Arcee (toy pictured below), a go-cart named Wheels / Wheelbot and Stinger (possibly a Porsche).
Wheels/Wheelbot sounds suspiciously like Wheelie. Stinger was the name of one of the Gobots, so I suspect Hasbro is trying to keep the right to use that name. (Note: Stinger was also the name of a robot scorpion in the original script for 'Transformers: The Movie', but he was replaced by Steeljaw.)

If they're twins, and they don't like their altmode... setup for Sideswipe/Sunstreaker perhaps?

Oooooh, there'll be riots... FRIENDS FIND, LOOK BEHIND!

I wonder if it's Springer rather than Stinger... that'd make a bit more sense than salvaging a Gobot copyright, especially when they can do that through a toy.

Hail the Fallen, Emissary of Unicron! (Hopefully, we'll get to see a big budget version of Unicron in this, or its sequel.)

Springer is cool, but hopefully he'll still be a triple-changer in the live action movie. Hopefully, we'll also see Astrotrain and/or Blitzwing.

I have a buddy who works at Edwards Air Force Base in the department that makes/runs the F-22 simulators.

Work basically stopped for him last month because they were filming Transformers 2.

He claims that Megan Fox is not in it.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Don't count on Blitzwing now that TF:A's out. Astrotrain might work if they do something along the lines of his Classics incarnation, but the scale difference with the other Transformers is going to be tricky without mass-changing.

I'd love to see Kup return as a cranky, rusty pickup...

In the cartoon, he was a friend of Starscream.
In the comics, he was a mindless drone Shockwave sent after Spike Witwicky, who at the time held the power of the Matrix inside him. Spike defended himself with the Matrix, and Jetfire woke up. It took a long time for the Autobots to trust him, but he finally got his brand changed.

His claim that Megan Fox isn't in it is absurd. She was signed for it, she's incredibly hot, and the Australian analyst isn't in it because that particular actress was being interviewed on radio a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure she said she wasn't in it because there wasn't a way to fit her into the plot.

Sector 7 Agent Simmons (John Turturro) distract the guards and sneak into the Smithsonian after hours.
I was really hoping he wasn't going to be in the second one. His character (or his acting) pisses me off.
It's Jodan, not Jordan. If you can't quote it right, I will mock you.

The newer comics - WW and the G1 reboot - use a variation of the G1 cartoon idea: Jetfire was a scientist who frequently worked with Decepticons and continues to do so after the start of the war, much to the annoyance of the Autobots he has aligned himself with. Then, again, the new continuity uses a "Cold War" theme where cooperatin across the factions isn't unheard of - which is how you get things like a Decepticon team bailing out the Wreckers in Stormbringer.
Anyone been reading the comic prequel "Reign of StarScream"?
Ah, is it a full prequel? I thought it was just a recap of the first movie with a teaser for the second - is it any good? The last movie prequel was pretty mediocre, so I didn't really bother with this one.

Dude. All the article says is that Megan Fox isn't in this particular chase sequence (which he allegedly provides pictures for). He didn't say she wasn't in the whole movie.
