Just archery. I haven't had a chance to train on firearms yet, and I won't get firearm training in my branch of the military. I'll have to get training from a civilian friend of mine.

My mom is a backwoods hippie.

So of course I know fire arms

Damn, I wish they had given me that free time around Thanksgiving, My mom built a real nice blind and we had lots of Duck and Turkeys on her property, the Venison tastes real good, so does the trout.

I've shot a rifle twice.
I'd really like to collect firearms but getting a license is impossible over here.

German. You can get a license here (not a total ban like in GB) but it's difficult to say the least.
It is possible to buy deactivated guns without license but the prices are horrible and you're not allowed to import them. (Otherwise I'd already have a AKMS hanging on the wall)

Oy, are there any European countries with gun-control laws that are not overly restrictive?

I haven't shot a gun yet, but I'm planning to join the shooting and traps club at my high school next year. I'm too busy with my three AP classes to do it this year. And my parents will definitely object. :?

That would be quite illegal here in the UK and even if it was legal I don't know if I would be comfortable having guns in my home.

Damnit, and I thought it was an ejaculation related thread. :D

Anyways, not yet, but I will by the end of the year when my buddy gets on the police force so he can endorse my firearms license application. In the meantime I've kept up my aim shooting airguns, but it just isn't the same.

Define overly....personally I dont mind living in a nation where people dont have a right to own guns with armour piercing amunition for some odd reason I dont see much need.....

For hunting shotguns and a few sorts of hunting rifle are still about in the UK, the ban is on handguns....something for which there is no real use save shooting people....

As you might guess, I dont collect guns and I dont shoot them....I do however use swords, axes, spears and a few types of polearm.....

I honestly don't like the Beretta. Then again it might be that I'm just not a fan of double action handguns in general, the difference in pull between that first and second shot just kinda throws me of a tad bit.

Coool. I like shooting Garands. My dad got one through one of those government programs where you have to "qualify" for the right to buy one by shooting at a range. I think his arrived in the mail the day before my sister's wedding. :)

Anyway, I like to shoot on ocassion but I only own a 0.177 cal Chinese pellet rifle. My father, on the other hand, has so many guns now that I've lost track. Most of his are for various types of hunting but he still has plenty of other stuff that is mostly for fun.

I have limited experience shooting guns at local ranges. Mabye 10 times in 10 years. I do not own any and really do not have a need or desire for any. If I lived in the country side I would probably pick up a .22 rifle for plinking.

The most recent firearms I used were a 9mm Beretta and a .40 Glock. I thought I would really like the Glock and hate the Beretta but it turned out to be the other way around. The Glock did not fit in my hand very well and pinched part of my hand. The Beretta was very comfortable and easy to shoo.

My father has an FN similar to the one you describe. If you want some more info on it, describe it out a bit better and I might be able to tell you a bit more about the gun you have.

I like shooting M1 Garands and Carbines. I also enjoy shooting Trap and Silhouette (3 1st place trap trophies, one with score of 24/25, the other two 22/25, all from the Tennessee Hunter Ed. Instructors Meet). I won two of the trophies with my Remington 1100 12g, and the last one (the 24/25) with my Benelli Nova 12g. That gun is a great all around shotgun. Good for game birds, ducks, trap, skeet, small game, etc. I also have a couple .22s, a .30-06 Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 and a 6.5mm Swedish Mauser M96.

That M96 is a great deer rifle. I turned down the bolt handle, drilled and tapped it for a scope, cut down the barrel a tad and re-crowned it, put a new trigger on it, and stuck a synthetic stock on it. That is the flattest shooting rifle I have ever owned.
