No, lead them to "their end".Sam Or I wrote:What about the prophecy of Starbuck leading them to thier doom?
Obviously since they aren't ended yet, she hasn't finished leading them there.

Dont forget, the Bentusi leader called her the Harbringer of the Apocalypse, so the "end" she could bring them too doesn't sound too happy.
And wow, that would make an odd crossover with Marvel comics

They shouldn't have landed in fucking Jersey.
And that's all I gots to say about that.
Of course if it's the Brooklyn Bridge we saw it probably isn't technically Jersey. But oh well.

That what was running through my mind as they panned across Kept hearing that "damn you all to hell!" thereSkylon wrote:I would have vomited if they panned to the Statue of Liberty.CaptJodan wrote:I said the same thing, actually. "Holy shit, they've landed on the Planet of the Apes. Charlton Heston is the 5th and final Cylon!"Spanky The Dolphin wrote: Also, I said it'd be awesome if they reached Earth and it was Planet of the Apes. Well this is close enough for me.
Tori is as I said before , just another scumbag toaster, nothing noble about her -- please die soon
And Saul Tigh has balls of U-235 At the end, he still is the man he wanted to be before all the final 5 BS
@$%$ 2009 before we pick up again?
Damn you!
"Of course, what would really happen is that in Game 7, with the Red Sox winning 20-0 in the 9th inning, with two outs and two strikes on the last Cubs batter, a previously unseen meteor would strike the earth, instantly and forever wiping out all life on the planet, and forever denying the Red Sox a World Series victory..."
Some remaining questions:
1) Who is the final Cylon? (duh)
2) What the fuck happened to the 13th Tribe?
3) Starbuck's "herald of the apocalypse" angle.
4) What about the other Cylons?
5) Where has Head Six been? What is she?

SPOILERS
I'm guessing that the final Cylon will be someone who died prior to Deanna being boxed, since she already knew that only four were in the fleet even though she had only been on Galactica for a few minutes. Care to make any bets on who it might be? I honestly have no idea.
The ruins on their side of the river seemed to look like the temple on Earth that Lee and Starbuck talked about. The city across the river looked like it might be Manhattan.

Viper signal: My head hurts. A "Colonial signal" undetectable by Colonial communication systems except for the Viper? Come on.
I'm betting they're on Brooklyn.
The ending felt, non-fulfilling. I certainly seem to feel the same disappointment of the characters though.
I gave three stars. Despite some good parts such as Tigh/Adama, Roslin being told to stfu, and... yea, this episode didn't feel right.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Despite obviously ripping a bit off from Asimov with the irradiated Earth concept, this was an amazingly episode and they seriously could have ended the series right there and I would have been content. Excellent acting by all around, gripping from start to finish...this episode had it all.
That being said, they have a shitload of loose ends to tie up and I'm not sure at all where it is supposed to go from here.

That would be a Geiger counter in that marines hand. It showed that the ground was giving off a couple of Becquerels per handful (presuming it's in that order of magnitude, it's far from dangerous for short exposure times). As for why, I'll let you figure that one out yourself, I have my theory.
My brother and sister-in-law: "Do you know where milk comes from?"
My niece: "Yeah, from the fridge!"
My niece: "Yeah, from the fridge!"
The soil Adama picked up was causing the Geiger Counter to register. Irradiated.
The Reactions on the ground were the most poignant, imho.
The look on Adama's face, and on Roslyn's, matched by De'anna.
Caprica crossing over to Tigh and touching his arm comfortingly.
The panning over the rusted, twisted stone and steal remains, until you get to the bridge. It was just heartbreaking. Three years of searching... and New Caprica was a better planet than Earth.

I'm reminded of the DS9 writers' debate during their last season as to whether or not to end the Dominion War halfway through the season. Moore was the biggest proponent for them to continue it all the way up to the end. 8 years later, I'm glad that he did the reverse opposite with nBSG; finding Earth with half a season to go...the possibilities are endless...And this is in a close tie for best cliffhanger of the series with Adam's shooting back in season 1. A little flat in some areas, but very good pay-off, very well done; damm the fucking WGA strike and the delay until at least 2009 for the conclusion...

It reminds me a lot of how Macross wrapped itself up: Space War I concludes in episode 27 I think, but the show itself doesn't end until episode 36, with the remainder of the series devoted to the post-war cooperation and conflict between humans and the Zentradi.JME2 wrote: years later, I'm glad that he did the reverse opposite with nBSG; finding Earth with half a season to go...the possibilities are endless...
So I really look forward to seeing what happens when the show comes back.
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Man, it was some really nice shots, the fleet jumping and then the ships, raptors and vipers coming in to land, just had me smiling and great sense of "Fraking A! They made it!" And then, click click click. "Fuck." I loved the looks on everyone's face, like "We just went through three years for this?" It was beautiful.
In the preview for the second half of the final season, was that the Scriptures I saw getting put on fire?
If The Infinity Program were not a forum, it would be a pie-in-the-sky project.

It can't be too bad relatively speaking since they're walking around unprotected. I imagine they would have done a scan with a Raptor first to make sure that they didn't need suits.LadyTevar wrote:The soil Adama picked up was causing the Geiger Counter to register. Irradiated.

Speaking of the final 5, can anyone figure out who is this woman?

Where's Torri?
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

They just had extras stand in because:
A) They were going to make them unseeable in post anyway.
B) They didn't know who the final five were going to be.
C) EVEN IF THEY DID DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THEY WOULD SET IT UP SO THAT PEOPLE COULD FIGURE IT OUT LIKE THIS.

Also, based on the first few episodes of Season 1, it seems that a few pills a day can at least keep radiation damage at bay. Helo wasn't looking too good there on Caprica, but, as John Cleese would say, "he got better".neoolong wrote:It can't be too bad relatively speaking since they're walking around unprotected. I'm not too keen on the overused "the Earthlings blew themselves up" plot point however they seemed very careful not to actually show any characteristic Earth features from orbit. This may not be Earth after all.
But if the forces of evil should rise again, to cast a shadow on the heart of the city.

Looking at it again this morning, that melted stub looks an awful lot like the Brooklyn Bridge. It may be nothing, but, on the other hand, it might be a very significant something.
