Ex-Sailor Jailed for Burning ‘Vampire’

Stephen Walters was high on a mixture of painkillers, amphetamines, cocaine and LSD when he and two friends beat, burned and attempted to poison an acquaintance in the Colonial National Park in September, Walters' lawyer said Tuesday.

For Walters' role, a York-Poquoson Circuit Court judge sentenced the 26-year-old ex-sailor to 60 years in prison, with all but nine years and five months suspended.

Walters and two others admitted to stabbing their friend Jonathan Barron, lighting him on fire and using a meat marinade injector in an attempt to poison him with a mixture of Barbicide, a disinfectant used in salons, and silver thermal compound, an electronics adhesive.

Prosecutors say a fourth defendant, Terisa Davidson, orchestrated the attack. Davidson -- who called herself "Red Phoenix" and knew the three because they all patronized a Norfolk store specializing in Wiccan and pagan supplies -- was convicted in May of conspiracy to commit murder.

After his arrest, Walters told authorities he had been on a combination of cocaine, acid, Adderall -- a drug commonly used to treat attention-deficit disorder -- and Percocet, a painkiller that contains Oxycodone, according to documents referenced in court.

Before handing down the sentence, Judge Prentis Smiley asked of Walters, "The pondering question the court has in its trial of the 'Red Phoenix' is, why did we choose silver thermal compound and Barbicide?"

Walters told the judge that Davidson selected the liquid cocktail for its vampire-killing properties.

He's so high, he actually told the authorities he was high on drugs? How hard did he fucking drug himself to convince himself his friend was a vampire and the Goth girl (I'm assuming Davidson is a Goth girl) isn't just a loony, a druggy, or both?

According to an article in the Courant, apparently Terisa Davidson believed that Barron (who wasn't seriously injured by the way - which astonishes me) had raped a friend of hers and she orchestrated the attack in revenge. The girl in question wasn't raped by the way.
