Cobblestone's are at least marginally all weather. But I prefer a nice hardened concrete runway built by paranoid eastern bloc engineers for my F-108.

A Rapier? Eh...I'd rather have a -104 or -110

myself. Just personal preference, I suppose, but they never showed the -108 would work.

The F-104!? Why the fuck would you want a fighter that had to return to base for fuel in less time then a Rapier would need for taxiing? The early Phantom aren't too bad, as long as your fighting Badger's or Bears.

Range 1250nm for the -104C isn't too bad...-108 was only supposed to have an 1150nm range. Not quite as quick as the Rapier, but I'd prefer the Sidewinders and Vulcan over 4 20mm single-barrels and unguided rockets.

And the Spectre's a very nice aircraft. 16,000 pounds of munitions is a fairly good payload

Of course, I prefer the really old ones for styling. Give me a Super Sabre or a Thunderjet, and I'm happy. I really need to finish the models of those I have (only need to finish painting/decaling the F-80G, have a P-40 half-built, and have a F-100 and F-14 still in the box).

The F-104's long range was entirely theoretical; with an actual warlord it could fly only about 500 miles. The Rapier was meant to have three Falcons' as its main armament, not guns or rockets.

The Thud was a great aircraft. Golden BB's into the control systems be damned, one took a direct 85mm wing hit and returned to base.

Yeah, Thunderchief was good, but it should have been an A, not an F-type.

The Skyraider. Powerful as shit, and with one of the first Vietnam MiG kills. It also is reasonable for the last combat use of aerial torpedoes, when an 11 aircraft attacked a dam in North Korea, it was totally destroyed.

Unfortunately it used AVGAS, and the USN was very happy to get the last plane using that stuff off its CV decks.

Okay, back to the topic. Uh, Id rather have a dirt path assuming it is not muddy. It is much easier to use when you have to push a stroller, ride a bike, or some such thing. Cobblestones also present people in wheel chairs with problem unless the stones are flush with the ground.
