Recondite War discussion thread Mk II

Lets get this back on the spit!

I may look like a fool, but I was chosen by the Inquisition for a reason! Surely you do not doubt the Inquisitions judgment, good fellows?

Also, I hear we're going to Tortuga?

Ok, the plan is for Mercurius to go to the shipyards under the pretense of determining whether or not they are suitable for performing a custom job that a secretive Magos of the Mechanicus is looking to get done. Inspection of the facility is a given, and questions will be asked on whether or not they can accomodate unusual requests.

I'm thinking that Darien and Mithras can go look in on the enforcers, while Crom works the fringe elements for information. That leaves Ajax, Scar, Eli the Guardsman, and whomever else was in our party free to pursue other leads as necessary.

Ajax is going to scout the harbor, doing various psynicience checks (Or however the hell that's spelled) along the way to see if he can discern the presence of other psykers. Or, you know, get someone nervous enough to take a shot at a witch-hunter.

Just in case you've got the wrong idea, these are sea-ships, not spacecraft. However, it's hardly inappropriate, anyway; there's all sorts that want to charter ships for something or other.

Waiting on feedback from Xenophobe, to see if his character (Magnus) is going to go with Mercurius to the shipyards.

I know that it's a wet-shipyard rather than a space-shipyard, but the "request" I have planned for the cover is unusual as well.

Yeah, I'm kinda busy these days, so I log on whenever I get the chance.
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

No worries. It's probably just my perception. Now that I've finally got time to pay more attention to the game.

Sorry guys, I'm in the middle of moving to a new apartment so it's been a bad week for me with that on top of work.

Posting this from the job as it is and I probably shouldn't be, but I'll get on tonight and get involved.

We need to do some shopping too, probably, unless Mithras or I can requisition some commbeads.

The first real non-interrogation related test I've rolled. A test for the blindingly obvious! Those characters who failed to notice should be ashamed!

I'm not gonna have internet access until Wednesday 06/25, so if I can post from work I can, but if not don't expect to hear from me.

Sorry folks.

Yeah, sorry about that, something big came up and I had to go away for awhile. I'll keep misses down to a minimum from now on.

Someday we're going to have to have a little chat, Eli

So you know how when a fight breaks out in the school halls, a circle of kids surround it and scream "fight fight fight!"? That's kind of what I'm trying to make here. Crowds are a bit of a distraction.

It's pain time for Merc. Yep, I rolled a 10 on the damage die for that gun. After armour, he just accumulated 10 damage points.

Erm, not to be snippy, but after factoring in my toughness bonus, that's 7 damage points out of 13.

Oh, I'd counted that, but I wasn't telling you everything. I had, though, done that wrong. It's nine. not ten. (If you're wondering, it's a gun firing a (limited supply of) rather special ammo from the Inquisitor's handbook¹. Which is essentially 1d10+3 pen 2 I. Which in this case is 13-1-3.

High rolling today... Merc and Mith did five and seven damage after toughness respectively. Which in this case, means you've a dead heretic.

Ajax succeeded, by the by, and will get the bonuses. But as it was a pretty good success, I decided to add a decribed glimpse of (what I expect to be) the future there, becuase it's more interesting than 'he succeeded.' Feel free to act on such information if you wish.
