You mean the city or two being nuked by both sides?Beowulf wrote:Even given the fact that you won, a lot of infrastructure was destroyed, making the military you have, proportionally more expensive as a % of GDP.
2 million, or about 3% of my population is dead, as stated in a previous post by Lonestar, who's RPing Garner.
*whips out On Thermonuclear War*
In On Thermonuclear War; Kahn stated recovery times to pre-war standards of living:
1.12% pre-war pop dead - 1 Year
2.79% pre-war pop dead - 2 Years
5.58% pre-war pop dead - 5 Years
11.15% pre-war pop dead - 10 Years
22.31% pre-war pop dead - 20 Years
44.61% pre-war pop dead - 50 Years
89.22% pre-war pop dead - 100 Years
So it would take me about 2 game years to completely recover my standard of living compared to what it was before the war. Remember, this is not an African country, where 35 years of civil war have destroyed all but the most basic infrastructure outside of the capital city -- this was a short and intense civil war.
I am not NASA, which is run by retards. There will be no less than fifteen X-57s, and they will be flying near constantly -- getting up to mach 3.944 with the turboramjets and then seeing if the scramjets work. If they don't work; the engines are tinkered with by the scientists and engineers, until we can achieve a workable scramjet which can stay lit near indefinitely.Second, scramjets are definitely not basic extrapolations of 1960s technology. We're just now getting small scale flightweight engines that actually deliver net thrust.
You don't lick the problem of supersonic combustion by just having two datasets (go NASA! Cancel further X-43 development!); you lick it by having thirty or forty datasets to look at. This will take time though. It won't be until probably two years from now that I can get scramjets working reliabily.

Before anyone asks, CVAN-84 Virginia of the Shepnukistani Navy has ended up in Zor's new Lords of Darkness STGOD via a Final Countdown-esque freak storm.
Nobody knows when they're coming back, or if at all. This is of course a huge blow to the much smaller Shepnukistani Navy....

Northray sells the AT-38D advanced jet trainer. Douglas sells the AT-45D advanced jet trainer. The RT sells another themselves. Not sure who else manufactures jet trainers.Fingolfin_Noldor wrote:Query, what are the jet trainers available? I'm looking for something like the Korean T-50 Golden Eagle.
Both the AT-38D and the AT-45D have been designed to also carry out the light attack role (include carriage of AIM-9, and AIM-120(though since the radar sucks ass, you don't have much range on the AMRAAM)).
There are 24 remanufactured AT-38Ds for sale. The IRT is taking a currently unknown quantity(scratch that, he's taking all 24). After that, it's new manufactured airframes. Northray isn't currently projecting major sales, so unless someone comes up with a large order, there won't be an actual production line for them. However, if anyone operates T-38s and wants them upgraded, Northray will upgrade them for a fee.
The AT-45D Strike Goshawk is a bit heavier, since it's a carrier bird, but has relatively similar performance. Since the Tian Xia Air Force has decided to acquire them, a production line has been set up. So if you want them, Douglas is selling.

AT-45D can be used on a carrier? That makes it interesting. What is the cost like? I would be interested in 30-40 of those. They are largely for training.Beowulf wrote:Northray sells the AT-38D advanced jet trainer. Douglas sells the AT-45D advanced jet trainer. The RT sells another themselves. The AT-45D would be a pretty poor advanced jet trainer if it couldn't teach carrier pilots to land on carriers. That's the reason it won the TXAF competition over the AT-38D. The Air Force could replace the T-38s, and end up with a much more homogenous force. It's unit cost is $25 million. Oh, and did I mention it's capable of supersonic speed? Uses afterburner though, so it's very limited in time.

Hmm... I will start with 30 of these then. I'll pay up as you deliver them from next year (which should come in a few real Earth days.)Beowulf wrote:The AT-45D would be a pretty poor advanced jet trainer if it couldn't teach carrier pilots to land on carriers. Right. So that'll stretch the current production run to another 50 aircraft (TXAF replacements are done, but they want another 12 for expansion). I'll put the remaining TXAF birds at the end of the line, for now. Should be produced at a rate of 3 a month, which means delivery should be completed by the end of next real life month for the both of you.
As part of the deal, Douglas naturally will conduct training on the type, both flight simulator, as well as real flights. I'll do a game post about this tomorrow. It's too soon to do another AvLeak issue anyway.

It might take as long as 6months to a year. I might be able to help since I was planning to announce on the turn of the new year the construction of several high power radars that will be part of my overall ABM system (and regional surveillance.)PeZook wrote:Yep. But whatever happens, please do not launch the craft such that it would be over Saddamistan.

Of course. Fortunately, it will be relatively easy to do, even if it does limit us to certain orbital inclinations.Fingolfin_Noldor wrote: But whatever happens, please do not launch the craft such that it would be over Saddamistan.
BTW, I wonder if Saddam would try to nuke people if a spaceship in Lunar orbit crossed it's "infinity +1" airspace?
To be safe, we probably should seek permission for a flyover for lunar spaceships
The "Ferdinand Magellan" will serve to extend our coverage around 20% during its trip, which should do for the first phase of Selene (1-6). In 2012, the FASTA will order nuclear commerce/servicing ships which will establish a large, dispersed network of tracking receivers on the various small islands on the Great Ocean. We'll also deploy floating tracking platforms.Figolfin_Noldor wrote: It might take as long as 6months to a year. We may also try to modify some commercial freighters to serve as tracking ships.

Unit cost of US$25 million? I think I'll take eight AT-45Ds as well.
I ship Eino Ilmari Juutilainen x Lydia V. Litvyak.

You guys realize that the MSA has setup a Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System, right?
I'll be coming up with a schedule for deliveries for AT-45Ds, then.

Uh...could we use it?
And...it is done! The first simian just started orbiting Terra!
It's probably a milestone of some sort. Uh, yeah.

And since me and Bear couldn't find a price for his SAMS, i have decided to purchase other anti air stuff, from other people. So who is selling? Hoe much do those lasers cost?
Also: I hope we can keep the monkey alive this time.
I figure I left a decent enough setup there for Coyote to continue with.
