Why do people keep bringing up the Q in VS debates. They really are not involved in the ongoings of Trek.

Because they're desperate. It's really quite sad.

I've been noticing. It seems like a lack of brain usage.

The Q are a non-issue. There is nothing to suggest they would swoop in any save anyone.. If anything, all we see of them suggests they'd let it happen without batting an eye(Q introduced humanity to the fucking BORG, and rang the dinner bell.). If people assume the Q are allying with the mortals, one can start bringing in the really rare stuff.. Aing Tiig Monks who are stupidly powerful in the Force, Zonoma Sekot and it's planetary hyperdrive, and the wierd fucker from The Crystal Star. Mostly we assume groups will act as we see them: The Rebels will try and undermine the Imperials, the Klingons will aid the Federation if it looks safe, the Borg will fling themselves mindlessly at their foe.

A man with a gun, car, and CD player goes back to 100 BC. He is thought of as a god that can use "magic" and the like. Does that mean he can do "everything" like a god? No.

Personally I think the same thing goes for the Q. Perhaps I'm wrong and they really *are* omnipotent...but I just think that they are so advanced that we can't even see that they have limits.

Q claims to be omnipotent, but around these parts, character boasts don't amount to much.
