So you just unilateraly shoot a missile onto FUN territory? After we've dealt with the problem of the terrorists? And what were those dinosaurs gonna do to you, exactly?

Zablania was always a part of the FUN. Back before the killbots even. And afterwards it was decided upon that it's still be under the control of the FUN.

Go ahead, take a look at the alliances thread. Notice how Zablania is colored purple for FUN.

So yes. You fired on FUN territory. Nice job.

Going to bed, start the VTC without me.

Also, "Major FUN Nations" specifically excludes the Shadow Empire, Coilerburg, Indophal etc.

Because he fired a missile at FUN territory, his nuclear scramjets unleashed some radioactive particles over open water, and the detonation over Zablania, in addition to the conventional effects, also released radiological contamination over Zablania.

In short, he just let loose a dirty bomb over FUN soil. A hideously expensive one, yes, but a dirty bomb nonetheless.

Well strictly speaking, it's entirely probably that "President Sheppard" is indeed a body double, and not the real thing.

Proving it could be tricky though. But we'll see...

It'd be possible to convert a F-18F to EA-18G, but not an E. I'm selling all twelve of my EA-18Gs. If you want them, you can get them as they're replaced by EF-14Gs.
So essentially EF-14Gs are similarly configured but faster? That's interesting. How much do these cost?
Talked it over with Phong... The F-14Fs would be about $80 million, with another $11 million in extra cost for the Growler upgrade. So they end up about half again more in cost than the EA-18Gs. Of course, they also have a pair of 40k lb thrust class engines, and are designed to supercruise.

I'm replacing them because they can't fulfill their primary mission effectively, which is escort jammer. However, this is entirely due to the speed differential between the F-14F and the EA-18G. If you have a carrier wing which is based on the F-18, then you might as well buy the EA-18G, since it'll have a high commonality with your existing air wing, and be able to effectively conduct escort jamming.

Honestly we all would have been fine and I think even Shep would have toned things down if Bean hadn't fucking SHIT THE POOCH over everything. We had internaitonal consenus, we had half of the UAR engaged and actively supporting drawdown of forces, we had everybody actually agreeing to be nice under some interpretation of nice. Then Bean decides to be the big gorilla in the pen and fuck with everybody.

If I haven't mentioned it Bean I'm still fucking pissed that all the work I did with behind the scenes diplomacy and in front of the scenes diplomacy to actually get the UAR talking to the MESS and FUN got shit on by your dick waving.

Wait, a number of us use F-35Cs. Is it possible to integrate a similar package on those, or will a F-14F do the trick as well? (I recall the speeds for both aircraft are similar?)

My over-engined F-14s are capable of supercruise; the F-35C can't.

The TXAF F-14F is an even more over-engined version than the F-114 in IRT service. It will have roughly twice the thrust of the F-35C.

The F-35 is a bit incapable of accepting the Growler upgrade, since you need a WSO for it, and the F-35 is a single seater.

Okay, let's discuss a possible response.

Would annihilating several Shepnukistan space assets (Hmm, does he have any?) constitute an act of war?

Could it be possible to retcon that we shot the missile from Shep with a huge Laser that we have?

The problem is that it was a super-fast cruise missile, while IIRC our laser is for shooting satellites.

We should also probe Saddamistan on this ; I have a sneaking suspsicion Skimmer wasn't told anything. I wonder what his oppinion of this whole mess is.

Um. Nuclear ramjets. And secondly, the missile was unarmed. Not even conventional explosives were on board. 30 tons moving at 2,000+ MPH hitting the ground will still cause a huge shockwave, not to mention the overpressure from the missile's wake...

This was a test of the weapon systems' secondary "irradate then smash into something" ability. Full up testing of nuclear capsules from this is scheduled for the neverhood testing range in about 3ish months.

Ramjets then, fine, whatever. Doesn't make much of a difference.

Do you really think any of what you just said excuses shooting a missile into FUN territory and irradiating the place?

I can't help but note that several countries have the same weapons "inherited" during the cross over.

So there are probably several hundred TLAMs out there with fabrication plant stamps that still say "Raytheon, Arizona" on them. In the hands of several countries.

I ain't suggesting anything, but if one or more of those were to go slamming into the airbase where the missile originated from it would be pretty hard to track down who fired 'em. Especially if launched from a sub.

Is all I am saying.

I assumed that zablania was a "no mans land" under virtually no international or local supervision -- because how else could GENITAL, etc and all these terrorist assholes get bases there unless it wasn't controlled by any power?

Oh well. Shoulda dropped it on Atlantis for the "irradate then smash" test. :x

How does any criminal organization establish anything anywhere?

Zablania is indeed a part of the FUN. They may not have had active patrols in the area, but then they probably figured it wasn't necessary.

Bean probably wouldn't be too happy about catching your radioactive fallout, you know.

EDIT: Assuming he hasn't just brought Atlantis back under his domain anyway, since the international community pretty much abandoned it.
