75%. Would've been higher if I hadn't read the question about "when the Constitution" was written as "when the Declaration of Independence". I must've read the two questions juxtapose together.

Still only a quarter of it wrong and it's been oh four years since I last been in a US history class.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Totally spaced the amendment thing, the Chief Justice too. I'm not sure how many of the other questions I got for wont of actually being a good citizen, or just because I'm a tremendous history nerd.

Who's even heard of Susan B. Anthony?

For all the wanking about 1776 and the constitution, I thought the two would be linked. :P

That test is both easy and stupid--it does not test people for the sort of knowledge that I think real citizens should have, but on the other hand the questions really do come from all over in US history, so I can see that someone from another country would have to study a broad range of topics in order to pass.

This has got to be the stupidest thing I've seen all week. I was expecting this test to include something that actually matters, like "why do all states have the same number of senators regardless of population?", but instead it was just a bunch of wanking about unimportant numbers and Susan B. Anthony.

How could anybody possibly take this seriously? How could anybody respect someone who takes this seriously?

The only reason I knew it was that I watched The Highlander too many times, and I remembered the line where MacLeod reminisces about about how the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, so I figured the Constitution must have come quite a bit later.

17/20 or 85%. This Canadian knows more then most Americans :)

The questions were pretty much what I expected, namely they're probably identical to what's asked on a highschool history test.

Nope, first we had to win the war. Then we had the articles of confederacy which gave most important responsibilities (including the printing of money) to the individual states. That went tits up in short order and they hammered out an actual government so the states wouldn't starve/go to war with one another.

20/20, but it's like bragging I scored perfect on an intelligence test designed for 5 year olds considering that I'm a US citizen who has lived here my entire life.

Because multiple-choice questionnaires are about as complicated as the paper-pushers in immigration are capable of handling?

From the article in the OP:
NOTES: Candidates are not given multiple choices in the naturalization interview. The following questions have been adapted from the immigration service’s sample questions.

You're confusing Betsy Ross (as portrayed in the original 'America Rock' cartoons) with Susan B Anthony,

9/20. But screw it, if I ever need to immigrate, I'll just crack open a history book. Problem bloody well solved.

20/20, as I am a history geek who lives in the US. That said, I think there was all of two or three questions that I'd have on a citizenship test, and those were related to the rights you have. And even they were kind of iffy, given that they were asking where the rights were located in the Constitution, rather than what rights you have in and of itself.

I've always wondered if the trivial pursuit style of test for this was related more to jingoism or incompetent test design. I'm still not really sure about that.

13/20, technically 14/20. I missed everything on the justices, president during World War I (I misread it as World War II), didn't know about the number of people in the House of Representatives, senatorial terms, when the Constitution was written, and I thought that New Hampshire wasn't an original colony instead of Maine.

15/20. American history and laws aren't my thing really, I prefer the overall system, events and politics, not quoting the Bill or Delaware, not Maine as a founding state  . (And I work with bloody US personnel :P).
