If you guys missed it, I edited the post a bit... one final flashback to Shroom's last moments of sanity.
Also, the walling-in of San Salvacion and Tauberg into giant Flavian amphitheaters is basically the origins of how Max Shroomatansky went mad and decided to start killing Shepnukistani and Saddamistani holocaust survivors en masse. After Shepnukistani and Saddamistani bandits killed his wife and child.
ALSO, I noticed that Mt. Shepmore, right outside of Nuketropolis, is a Filipino landmark! A monument to Marcos, our deposed dictator! Awesome!

Though I don't think Shroom is himself all that evil. Not necessarily any more so than Missis Stalin, Stas' widow. He does have a massive cult of personality though, the Shroomanian populace would believe he saved their nation - and THE WORLD!
He'd be like Soviet Superman. The FUN would become a warped and perverted mirror of its old self.

The Ranger is old but she's still going. Some more of my Navy units are also trucking along.
Enderistan never got hit so they're in good shape. Economically a bit weaker I'm sure due to the bodyblows the global economy took, but overall they're still tiptop. The LSR and Tian Xia should have pretty well recovered by now and Wilkonia is just coming out of it, as is Canissia. Byzantium should be well and good after 40 years as well. I'm probably worst off of everyone because of the damn bioweapons.

Shroom slowly goes nuts with the horrors of the refugee problem, and in under a decade, Shroomania has to tighten its belt. Nations around the world have declared martial law, so why can't Shroomania? The only thing different is that we have a cult of personality.
Shroomania is not going to antagonize the MESS or any other nation. All we do is venerate Shroom the 777th while he turns the ShroomSats and Strats into Orwellian eyes, and puts cameras in TVs so he can watch people in his living room.
The quality of life in Shroomania is... well, odd I guess. The only ones being oppressed are the UAR refugees who are confined in enclosed cities.
Overall, we're not hostile to other nations. Just more grandiose and loopy - but we just had a global nuclear war. People's faiths have abandoned them, their gods left them, their leaders died or hid in holes. Shroom the 777th led them to the light - he brought aid to the FUN nations who were stricken by the economic effects.
Coupled with the fact that I've been working to fill the media with my junk TV, well... it's not hard to see why Everyone Loves Shroom... to the point of fanaticism!
I'm not going to be belligerent to anyone - I don't have the stomach for it.
This whole Nazi thing is solely domestic. It is a realistic reaction of a nation that is scared, of a nation that has watched all others around it burn in nuclear fire.
