hahaha, my sister just entered the room and looked over my shoulder as I was beginning the "what turns you on" thread. She kinda laughed and said "these people have no life there" then walked away. I know that's stupid because it's obvious you all have lives outside this board, including Wong.

Question: does not really going anywhere count as not having a life?

I just like to stay in my room and do things by myself, so that's why I'm asking.

I have a life outside the Internet. Unfortunately, it consists of schoolwork.

Hey, that's like me. I like staying in the house and doing things by myself. Or having friends over...but staying inside my house. I used to be much more of an outdoors person when my best friends lived down the block, but they're long gone. They've moved away and I only saw one of them like two times after that. :( Gone are the days of doing lots of fun kid stuff with my friends.

The thing is that I can't drive and I don't have a job. I just go to class, stop at the comic shop, and go back to my dorm...

I think that she considers no life is something that she would consider a pathetic life.

*shrug* As Bean pointed out, computers aren't just toys. Sometimes it's fun to just flip over somewhere, BS for five minutes, then get back to work. It refreshes the brain to think about something else for a little while. I guess what I'm saying is that some people are here because their life is too full.

I have a life...

I take 16 credit hours at college, work 11 hours a week on campus, and work 6 hours on Saturday for Habitat for Humanity.

I am a member of Phi Sigma Tau, the national philosophy honorary; applying for Theta Chi Beta, the national theology honorary; am Secretary of the House of the Student Government Association; and am applying for Sigma Rho Epsilon, a service organization.

Well, engineering's probably a bit harder than what I'm taking:
3 hours Prophetic Thought in Ancient Israel
3 hours Fundamental Questions in Theology and Philosophy
3 hours Ethics
3 hours Fundamentals of Speech
3 hours French 202
1 hour Tae Kwon Do

Same thing with me, except minus the dorm, minus the comic shop. I just take the bus to school four miles away, learn, take the bus back home, watch TV, come here, do homework, eat, sleep, repeat next day. Of course there are spontaneous events that happen which change things around, but if these didn't happen, this is what I would do every day....I wonder how many people my age live their lives like this or not?

EDIT: I should also add I'm not a hermit. I have quite a bit of friends in school. My grade is very laid back when it comes to relations, especially in my senior year. A lot of people get along, even if they aren't necessarily friends. It seems as though this has been a gradual evolution. There were lots of dumbass assholes in 7th grade and then eventually they seemed to disappear or become less of the assholes they were and slacked off on tormenting people and *gasp* got along with them!

to most people, having a life = partying etc. apparently a social life requires partying otherwise interactions with people are strictly boring shit.

Well I sure as hell do. I used to get out alot, when my friends "Teddy" (theodore), and "Benny" (benjamin) used to live across the street.

Every single day I'd go out there, and we'd mess around from 3-7, great times we had, altrhough that was 4 years ago. Then he moved away, and I don't get out at all nowadays. Maybe it was the nearby location, since all my school friends live miles and miles away in Warren.
