I don't think the email was particularly condescending. Clearly he's not used to any kind of criticism so I see why he would angrily turn his back after one email. But you, Darth Wong, went pretty easy on him compared to, say, what TC Pilot received over Shakespeare.

I might be wrong but I'm picking up on an undertone of concern and that's just not from the closing words of the last email. Throughout the emails I'm finding solutions, that while they might not be easy for someone like CAPtain, are helpful more than anything else. And while the emails are critical they aren't rude.

In comparison to Mike's typical style, he wasn't just easy on him, he practically coddled the guy.

I don't know why you're looking for weird psychological angles on this. I was nicer to the guy than I was to a typical poster here because he didn't come to me or enter my house of his own volition. I approached him.

Well, I wasn't asserting any reason behind your email tone there, merely making an observation on it.

Although that would of course be a sin to impersonate God.
He'd mark it as being a false witness or something, a temptation by the devil or something.

So we should go the other route. Do a letter from satan, thanking him for exemplifying greed, sloth, wrath, and pride with his website and not trying to do any other work. Then thank him for ruining the lives of the adopted children by not providing for them, meaning that the minor work he did will cause six others to have bad lives. Link in that six is man's number (or something like that), and show that he is the cause of it all by trying to be like god (seven is supposed to be god's number).

It doesn't have to make much sense, it just needs to have lots of vague references in it. He'll fill in the blanks.

That would be amusing, though: God choosing to communicate through an anonymous Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail account? It's almost exactly what you'd expect, isn't it? A message from above that you have to have faith to believe, since, as always, there's no way to prove that it's from God.

What would really be the kicker is if the person emailing him could make the return address reachable at some 'godly' address like "Alpha&Omega@Heaven.God".

My organization (a secular advocacy group) gets some emails from people who think it's funny to pretend to be God, Jesus or the devil. We've gotten jesus@hotmail.com and monotheist@heaven.org. We also got one who didn't disguise his email but the sender's name was listed as "The Devil". It said (predictably), "Thank you for doing my bidding."

The thing I'd want to say to him is to actually correct his interpretation of that quote. It doesn't say he is an infidel. It says he is worse than an infidel.

Look, he never will. This is the only way he can quote scripture and still claim to be good at heart, by feigning ignorance. Admitting what the quote really says will make it unavoidable.

Oh man, I had a mean idea.

Considering how fast he responded to that email and how he had to go down every line and write stuff, if a bunch of people sent him long emails, he'd spend all his time writing back and wouldn't be annoying employers with his resume and applications. He would foil his own attempts at getting a job to be an online fake minister.

The problem with your idea is it actually takes effort on our part. :P

More productive than Goatsing him. I considered sending in line-by-line critiques for each of his reviews, myself.
