No, that's actually cheaper than it is in AU in most circumstances. The absolute cheapest I've seen it is AU$760 or something for the 8GB model.

Amsuingly, the DIFFERENCE between models is still AU$120, or roughly what it should be. The actual base price is just three times higher.

iPhones here start at $199 NZ, which is pretty damn good...except for the fact that you're then in a 2 year contract for $250 a month.

Thanks vodapricegouge.

The AU vf offerings are easily the worst, probably because vf has the weakest data network. It's about $20/month more expensive for plans with similar data volume.

For the Americans, a $50/month plan in AU might give you two hundred and fifty WHOLE MEGABYTES. You can get $30/month plans for 5GB for laptop access, but not phones. PRICEGOUGE POWER ACTIVATE!

Vodafone's currently our only 3G/GSM provider. Their only competition are Telecom with their CDMA network.

VF-NZ's offering for the 250mb a month iPhone plan, $80 a month. That's $60 USD.

You see, when Telco's ream Aussie consumers they make sure they stick the fist in far enough that it comes out the other end with enough enough room to spare for NZ consumers to get in on it face first.

My wife and I were lucky enough to get one today. It's been fucking nuts around here...people lining up in the middle of the night and getting to be 60 deep by the time stores open. The Apple Store near my in-laws house had over 300 people lined up. We said fuck that and left.

We were lucky to have a friend call us from an AT&T store to tell us they were plenty stocked with a short line. We were some of the last today to get one, we each got matching white 16GB models. :D This thing is a fucking incredible device; it's so versatile. I can't stop messing with it.

Jesus Christ, really? $250 NZ per month for the plan? That's $190 US! Does it include a complimentary blow job every month? Because it had better for that insane price.

No, but that would make the offer tempting, some of the vodafone girls are pretty hot.

Otherwise its $979.00 for the 8GB or $1129.00. Only problem is that if you're not paying for a data plan then it's a straight $10/mb.

You know those joke emails with all the sparkly gifs and million FWDs and REs in the subject and the "Forward this to everyone you know to make them feel special!" at the bottom that everyone's Mum likes to manually forward as if they were pretending to be a human autoforward rule? - Opening one costs $50.

Well, the offer of T-Online here actually seems (somewhat) reasonable if you're interested in an iPhone. I think they're trying to get more people to the new iPhone than last time round, when the sales figures were a bit disappointing for them.

Prices range from 29€ a month to 89€.
For the 29€, though, you don't have any free phone minutes or SMS, and only 500MB included. The actual iPhone costs an additional 160€ for the 8-GB one, and 250€ for the 16GB one.
The 89€ gives you 1000 free phone minutes, 300 free SMS, and an UMTS flatrate. The phone then costs 1€ for the small and 20€ for the bigger one.
