Terminator Salvation teaser trailer is out
See it here.
It LOOKS good, but if the rumors I've heard are true then it's going to suck no matter what it looks like.

I really don't give a shit about this movie. Terminator, T2, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles are canon. This and T3 are just a big acid trip on the part of Dr. Silberman.
I just hope that this doesn't affect the production of the TV show. I'd hate to see them cancel it to focus on a series of McG movies.

Looks good. Christian Bale makes everything better, and at least watchable.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

So, for those of us who dont really know who McG is, why are you guys worried? Is he a sucky director or what?

The fact that he thought it was "cool" to abbreviate his name to McG speaks volumes about how he sees the world, and where he's coming from with his movies.Darth Ruinus wrote:So, for those of us who dont really know who McG is, why are you guys worried? Is he a sucky director or what?

Is there anything redeemable about the Chronicles other than "OMG Z RIVER MAI HOT WHEDON WAIFU"? And how are the S.M. Stirling novels?Drooling Iguana wrote:I really don't give a shit about this movie. Terminator, T2, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles are canon. Compared to the shit that was T3, and the shit T4 is bound to be, SCC is actually pretty good, worth watching at least the first few eps to see if you like it at least.
“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” - Oscar Wilde.
I thought SCC was absolute drivel from start to finish tbh, I'm more than willing to give T4 a whirl but I'm not expecting much. Connor is an annoying little shit in T3 and SCC, hopefully Bale can pull it off.
I'd love some of the timeline issues to be tackled in this film, properly. Which war will we be witness, the original one, the result of the change in T2, the SCC one, same goes for skynet, is it the military computer, the internets or the chess machine .

T1 and T2 are canon. This is canon if it depicts the original (T1, before they blow Cyberdyne T2) war. SCC, T3, and probably this film are wishful speculation.

You mean to say that a 16 year old kid with an overprotective, insane mother will act like a rebellious idiot?Jon wrote:I thought SCC was absolute drivel from start to finish tbh, I'm more than willing to give T4 a whirl but I'm not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by SCC, but I'm clearly not enough of a Terminator fanboy since I thought T3 wasn't bad.
*shrugs* the John Connor in SCC (and T3 for that matter) is just not the John Connor I would have expected following his portrayal in, and the events of, T2.
I read they're already going to ignore T3 for the most part as one of the alternate versions of events created by the time travel, so it could be the case this portrays the original timeline before the first terminator was sent back.

"This isn't the future my mother warned me about. In this future, I don't know that we can win" - That line is in the trailer linked to above.Jon wrote:*shrugs* the John Connor in SCC (and T3 for that matter) is just not the John Connor I would have expected following his portrayal in, and the events of, T2.

That would seem to fit T2 and T3 quite well, The Connors changed the future but Skynet still came to be. And now John's not sure he can beat it.
