You heathen. http://achewood.com/ The "A BLOOOOO BLA BLOO BLOO BLOOOOOOOO" is blubbering per the comic. It got named funniest comic by Cracked, and #1 Graphic novel of 2007 by Time. It's mainly absurdest humor and character interactions, but it makes for some great stuff: eg. the blubbering, the chicken discussion, or this and this

So I saw this crap yesterday. Damn the CGI was hilariously bad, I had thought that decade old CGI could be had for very cheap nowadays.

I liked that they actually showed a colony planet and it's people rather than Earth in this one.

...Time magazine actually counts as a negative endorsement at this point, I'd think. I've stumbled across that comic once or twice and I was simply not impressed; the art is worse than mine, and the writing is just plain not funny. At all.

... Wow, ... I see the thread talking about it, and I still think it a joke trailer...

I mean... The didn't even spring for the five dollar CG... Those guns are rediculous... And just... wow...

Unnamed extras while they're getting scanned for Power Suit usage.

Not one, not two, but three sets of them! That puts us on par with the first film, so clearly it stands above the second film(one set), whichever way you looks at it.

Holy shit, they discovered the spade and trenchs! What's with those weird-ass turrets on the buildings? Haven't they heard of mortars or rocket artillery?

I like their rifles. They don't seem to have any sights, and the grenade launcher doesn't look like its reloadable. Nice.

I am laughing way, way too hard at this.
Yeah, and the chicken follow-on....
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

I'm pretty sure I saw a rear electro-optic eye piece. It was mounted it the top rear of the stock, and I dare say the sensor from which it received input would have been mounted up front, between the barrels.

On the business end of the rifle, isn't it (from top to bottom) flashlight, grenade launcher and then rifle?

Ghetto edit: At 76:30 the flashlight is on, it's at the top of the rifle. We see it again at 76:47, when they're searching the flying brick.

"Achewood" and "Starship Troopers". Huh. The dumb seems to fit well. :?
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

I'm calling you a blubbering bitch by my reference to Achewood. Oh no, your fantasies of a SERIOUS BUSINESS movie featuring your favorite powered armor have been ruined, what a terrible loss. Oh no, a so-so sci-fi book was mercilessly scavenged for a lowbrow action space opera movie, what a terrible waste.

It's a fun movie, pull your copy of SST out of your ass and move on.

Sorry that I missed a reference to your shittastic comic. I guess you were just too erudite for my pitiful brain to comprehend, you petrefactive little prick.

If you're referring to the first SST film, it was not a fun movie - it was a half-hearted attempt at political satire, fell flat in every worthwhile regard, and I'd have to say that the only highlights it boasted were Neil Patrick Harris and the amazing performing ferret, Clancy Brown breaking some poor schmuck's arm, and tits.

It didn't even work as an action movie, given that it was more riddled with plot holes than your whore mother is with needle tracks.

Half hearted? The 1st film was about as full hearted an attempt at satire as you're every likely to see, they just made the mistake of overestimating the ability of some scifi fans to actually pick up on it, hence Neumeier getting rid of any semblance of subtlety for this one.

Personally I found the 1st film a blast and enjoyed the action, the subversion of Heinlein's fascistic utopia and the satire of contemporary politics.

Oh no, Starship Troopers had plot holes! This clearly disqualifies it from being a good action movie! I'm sure Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, et al will be lining up to voice their condemnation once they've heard of this atrocity against action movies! Plot holes, whoever heard of such a thing?! NOT IN MY AMERICA. Image

I don't give a flying shit whether or not you got the reference. You're a blubbering bitch either way. Cry some more.

The politics in Starship Troopers was like the biggest troll Heinlein pulled on readers. If only he was alive today to use the internet.

Thing is though unlike you in the post he 'BLA BLLOO...ed' he wasn't whining in his previous post, he was making fun of you, can't you tell the difference?

The only person I can really see doing any whining in this thread is you.

You're right, I'm sorry. He's not whiny, just annoying and devoid of anything more substantive than a reference to an overrated webcomic.
