Wait a minute. I'm paying $21,000 a year in tuition at the school where your dad is a full professor, and you can't afford cable? Where the hell is all my money going???
Incidentally, if you see him, please don't mention it. He can be rather touchy about it.

I've found mentioning salaries in front of any Villanova professor is likely to bring out their unpleasant side. Understandable, considering the cars in the student parking lot are usually nicer than the ones in the faculty lot.

I actually haven't seen him at all this semester. I don't have class with him and I work the closing shift at the library. It's kinda too bad. He was one of my favorite professors here, even though I did have a habit of missing his classes (not his fault--last semester his was the first of the day and I always miss the first of the day a lot, and the time before that his class started exactly the same time my (at the time) new girlfriend's classes ended and her roomate was out of the room. My extracirricular activities were interfering with my class schedule, as it were).

I get the same channel line up but I only watch these instead.

CBC: 6 (Hockey)
CityTV: 7 (movies)
NVR: 20
FOX: 28 (freak shows)
TSN: 30 (Hockey & sport news)
TLC: 34
Showcase: 39 (...)
Bravo: 40 (Sex & the city)
Discovery: 42
SuperStation: 47 (movies)
Space: 50
SportsTickerChannel: 53 (When I need to see the score fast)

The others are complete trash and a waste of numbers.

Whilst in Britian, I watched Sky.

Interestingly enough, it was all American television.

BTW, for the Brits, I only saw one Brit show on at the time that I liked, and I only saw one episode; it was a fairly decent comedy called 'The House that Jack Built'

Caught some reruns of Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet too. Loved 'em.

60, but I only watch 5 of them, and 2 of those 5 are weather channels. I honestly don't need TV for anything other than weather, traffic, and news reports. I discovered how worthless TV is when I went 4 months without it during my first year of university and didn't feel like I was missing anything.

Pro7 just beats them by miles when it comes down to entertainment.
bah, pro7 is crap! the only good things they broadcast are the the simpsons and futurama. besides that they show the talkshows mentioned above from 14:00 to like 17:00 then the stupid rosanne clones and and at 20:15 movie which is a "weltpremiere" because it´s a pro7 production and after that they start their comedy program. no, stefan raab is NOT funny, he´s a fucking dumbass!
Never said Raab is even remotely funny.
And most sitcoms are definitely no Roseanne clone.
I very much like to watch sitcoms, and here Pro7 beats the rest. Will&Grace, Dharma&Greg, Friends... And other series I would terribly miss.
Whereas ZDF brings us Forsthaus Falkenau or some equaly lame shit.

jup, forshaus falkenau and das traumshiff, as i said 90% crap. but that´s still better than the 99.9% crap that the privats broadcast. let´s keep this pointles argument about taste going.
or maybe not.
imo, tv is mostly a waste of time. besides a couple of good documentaries and the news i dont watch anything. if i want to see a movie i rather get it on video from the "frisco familien videothek" around the corner. only exception is when i´m at a freinds place and totally stoned, then i can even enjoy "hinter gittern - der frauenknast"

I am so sorry

I have about 80 channels not including blanks. Once I had 200 for a short while. It is weird. I was watching my cable tv, and then all the sudden the channel changed to channel 125 showing some Africans (I think) with missing legs and shit. I was flipping through the channels and got near around 200 seeing this gay drawing of a girl flying around and then all of the sudden, it went back to normal. That was a strange experience. Back then we lived in a apartment building so that probably has something to do with it.

NBC (2)
PBS (8 )
UPN (20)
WB (39)
CBS (11)
ABC (13)

I only watch maybe 2-3 hours of TV a week, so I'm not missing anything.

Yeah, actually I don't watch that much TV except for the Simpsons and a few others that I watch as it comes on. Mostly I have the TV on just for the noise cause I don't like being on the computer and there being no noise around except that from the computer
