Xerxes and Zakary are now NPCs, by and large.
Edit: Verum was brought to -10 Crit, but burned a Fate point to survive. He's currently in critical condition at the Doc's.

So Grim just happens to be a magistrum operative? I don't buy it. They seem like actual gangers to me. We should tell him nothing and finish the mission. That would be my gut reaction anyway.
Edit: hope I am not taking any liberties by having Lazarus be sort of up to speed. He would have been on the comm constantly asking what the hell was going on.

When Raj finishes talking with Grim I'll make an account of the whole "shooting Verum" thing, along with killing one of Grim's men. Yeah, and when we get back to Captain Greis I'll give my account and see if I get a bolt between my eyes for my actions.
Also, I realize now that instead of shooting I should have just told Verum to shut the frak up and get his hand away from his sword. Mea culpa.

Well, actually Quintos doesn't regret shooting Verum, he regrets starting the shooting. Verum so flagrantly violated OPSEC and direct orders not to reveal who they were working for that Quintos' first impulse was to kill him for treason, and he still thinks that the job should be finished off, but the results of opening fire mean that now one of Grim's men is dead, by Quintos' hand too incidentally. So he's really pissed at himself for jumping the gun there, and so he's going to not actively try and kill Verum again until they can get back in contact with Captain Greis and let his commander pass judgement on the both of them.

Incidentally folks, this:

EDIT: and if somebody would let everyone know what's going down before we decide in our ignorance to do something unwise, it would be really handy.
and this:“I've wasted enough time on things you all should already know, so here's what you need to know. Inquisitor Skane and I have found hints at corruption on the planet Archaos. The details are scant, but the charges are dire. All we have right now is a name, Silvanus,” He paused, making sure that the name carried the appropriate weight. “I wish we had more, but the planet and the name were all we could get. Inquisitor Skane is busy elsewhere, so I doubt you'll get the pleasure of seeing her anytime soon, but you do have me,”
is all we know about Silvanus. Everything else is speculation.Crime has been on the rise recently. The Adeptus Arbites, as is their righteous duty, cleansed the local Magistarium law enforcement of criminal corruption not long ago. Whether this works in our favor or not is not yet clear to me.
"Smuggling has been a major problem. One 'Silvanus' gang seems to be the primary source for this.

Whoa whoa Quintos, slow down. You're accusing the Arbites of heresy in front of a law-abiding emperor-fearing (former) magisterium officer here. Even though he may not particularly like the Arbites, accusing them of heresy is an entirely different thing.
Also, all of you asking for proof of his identity: He's already shown it to us. Official Magisterium ID and papers.

Considering she's gonna see Verum's almost-corpse soon in the doctor's office, she should probably find it very strange that they're treating his injuries.

This is getting tiresome.
Look, I'll spell it out for you:
"You'd be part of a group of men that I'm committing to the action"
That means you're NOT ALONE, and that OTHER GRIMLOCHS would be with you.

Go with it. We're about a hundred miles up shit creek and somebody has handed us a paddle. Not being sure which way is "out" isn't a very good reason for not paddling.
EDIT: and the worst that can happen is we all die horribly, regretting the day we were ever born. Which is bound to happen sooner or later anyway.

What exactly are we going to do if we don't take up this offer? At least this has the potential to lead us somewhere, unlike if we just struck off on our own and had no direction whatsoever.

So walk into a trap, knowing its a trap? Could work, all I ask is we tell the boss what's going on before we do it. Other options include getting Grim away from most of his men and taking him prisoner, or taking the guys he sends to the spaceport with us instead.
We'll have to make our decision in the game thread, once we get a chance to get everyone on the same page when Grim and his men aren't a few feet from us .

Since when did we know it's a trap?Raj Ahten wrote:So walk into a trap, knowing its a trap? Could work, all I ask is we tell the boss what's going on before we do it. EDIT: and if you have any ideas as to how to contact our fearless leader, I'd be glad to hear them. Given that we didn't even have a way to do so when we were in the Imperial Guard barracks where he knew exactly where we were....
Well I've posted what Lazarus feels about the situation. About it being a trap, what else would it be? Would you offer somewone whose buddy just cut off your ear a juicy job with there being no catch? Grim would want to test our loyalty and conections at the very least, even if he is exactly what he says he is and a shining beacon of virtue.
Ablout the boss, best option is likely to just send someone to the base to delivery him a note or talk to him. Some one with a badge might be best, as an officer can't just execute an arbite with out some due process, unlike a guardsman (I'm assuming). Or a guardsman could just go to a duty sargeant and say they have strict orders to hand deliver Greiss a message or something, and we pray to the Emperor that the asshole Lt. doesn't spot us. The idea would be to hide in plain sight, there are shitloads of people moving around that base. Our tech preist could also do a computer search to find where he is.

Who says it's a nice juicy job? Besides, we already knew that there's something going at the spaceport, we just chose to go into the underhive instead of following that lead. Something tells me that this is the same thing.
As for Gries, we could send our arbite, a guardsman, and the techpriest all together. It would give that team more options, and make it harder to quietly dispose of them.

There's also the option of using a psyker. As a member of the Adeptus Astrotelepathicus, we're traditional messenger boys and could cut through red tape to get to see him in person.
As for the gangers, I don't trust them at all. Right now we're doing an excellent job of being expendable muscle and we have nothing to confirm their wild ass claims.

The Excellent Prismatic Spray. For when you absolutely, positively must kill a motherfucker. Accept no substitutions. Contact a magician of the later Aeons for details. Some conditions may apply.
