Wait, since when did a genetic marker for different skin colour make you incapable of being hateful, ignorant, redneck, and praying to god to solve your problems? Oh wait. It didn't. Gods above and below... I'm sorry, but did you have a point here, or just blubbering without proper capitalization?

Have you ever heard of the phrase "When in Rome ..."?

This is a forum where an honest attempt at proper English is required by our local rules. If you don't like it, you are free to leave. And if you are incapable of constructing sentences that an English teacher would accept, then you're only reinforcing the negative stereotype that you claim to oppose.

One where by and large you come across more ignorant bigoted fuckwits who would rather own guns and bash gays than allow women to have safe abortions and contraception? One where people cannot form a coherent sentence, like yourself? Yeah, I'll gladly display utter hatred and contempt for the ruptured bowels of America.

I'll show the same contempt for them that I do for you if they display such ignorance with the Spanish language as you have for the English one. Friendo.

You'll never have to concern yourself with that.

You do realize that it's because of people like you that the efforts of people like me(and Spartan, and a few others) are eroded, right? Because you can't take the extra 30 seconds to capitalize correctly and string a sentence together?

Texas(especially Austin) has a lot of things going for it...but then assholes like you come out and reinforce preconceptions about the state.

For example, you could have said "Yes, Texas has problems with seperation of church and state, like many US localities, which has put blinders on how the government functions. We do however provide some of the lowest cost of living in the country, highest employment rate, and least expensive institutions of higher learning."

Instead we get:
uh yeah i dont think its far to make a broad generali

zation of such a big part of the country.
Really. No damn effort at all and posts that are almost calculated to make folks outside the state think negatively of it's citizens.

And "YALL" is spelled "Y'all"!

Lonestar has addressed this fairly well, I think, so just to add a little to what he said, our higher education here is generally of a high quality (especially in the larger schools) in spite of the bullshit that surrounds primary and secondary education. The University of Texas system as well as the A&M system being the shining stars, so to speak. Not to mention Texas Tech, Baylor, Rice, a few others I'm certain I'm forgetting.

Also, Lonestar? It can also be spelled ya'll. In fact, that's the most common one I've seen.

If we're going to be pendantic, ya'll is singular, all ya'll is plural.

There, you made me go and remember the rules for a dialect I hate knowing. I hope you're happy gentlemen.

As for the 'Don't insult my big part of the country!', when the middle Americans, southerners, and other idiots stop insulting the big cities which make the country run, I'll consider it. Maybe.

Really? Hmm... I've never used ya'll in a singular sense. Differences in subdialects I guess.

Yeah, but he spelled it yall, which is what drove me up the wall. He was completely missing the fucking inverted comma.

Wouldn't that be redundant because you would be saying "all you all"?

I only use y'all in the plural to say "you (plural)," "you guys," etc.

Sho'nuff, ya'lls.

Is it wrong to make fun of people just because they were unfortunate enough to be born stupid?
Yes, but it sure is fun.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

People who are born stupid exist for menial labour and for their betters to make fun of them.

Brainwashing in a regional cult of idiocy is an explanation for idiotic behaviour, but not an exoneration for it. That's why we have no problem killing violent Muslim extremists in Afghanistan, even though you could easily make the argument that they were brainwashed into it.

I found an apartment there with nearly 500 sq feet and a loft for under 500 USD a month, grad student tuition is about 6000 USD a semester and in the winter I will be fully funded by the university. Please tell me you're at UT and the apartments are that cheap. I'm looking to move off campus in a year or so.

If my family is anything to go by, it is an extremely insulting term applied to one who went to ut. Or maybe the fact that they went to ut is the insult.

Short for tea-sipper.

Yes, my family is an Aggie family. Gig'em!
