What I was trying to imply was doing a naked photo shoot outside in Alaska weather in December in the normal amount of time required to do it and see how long the model stays alive.

A human can not survive in Alaska without some sort of coat. Does that mean you need a fur coat, no. Does that mean everything that looks like fur is fur. No.

Well duh. I wasn't deny the need for a coat at all, just the claim of fur being predominant up here.

I don't see anything particularly wrong with this. Demonstrating something is per definition attention whoring and to demonstrate wearing fur is a good thing. PETA often does stupid counter productive stuff but this isn't one of them as far as i'm concerned.

The Chinese have only two rules governing the discussion of sex.

1) You may talk about sex when the subject is sexual education or planned parenthood, i.e., to avoid violating the one child policy.

2) You are NOT to talk about sex outside of the subject of sexual education or planned parenthood.

As you can see, Chinese attitudes towards sex is VERY conservative; hell, before the one child policy made sexual education and planned parenthood a requirement, there was only one rule: You do NOT talk about sex, EVER.

PETA doing a "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" campaign in a place that conservative is like going to Vatican City, entering a cathedral during Sunday mass, pulling down your pants, and shitting right on the altar. That's just BEGGING for trouble.

This is not a racial issue, e.g., Beard protesting that the Han (ethnic Chinese) discriminate against white people (or Tibetans, or Uighurs). This is about Beard doing something the Chinese believe is indecent and should not be allowed in public.

For comparison, imagine what would happen if nudists were to express their beliefs in the Islamic Republic of Iran, i.e., walk around naked in Tehran. Is whatever argument this is meant to support (e.g., "I'd rather go naked than wear a burqa") REALLY worth the resulting police brutality and/or lynching?

Worth the result? That really depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice in order to reach a particular change.
But that´s not the question. The question is, if it´s morally wrong for these nudists, or in our case this athlete to protest something in a specific manner.

And beware, anyone who goes to that article and clicks for the slideshow; while Amanda Beard is quite nice to look at, the selection of other posters includes Dennis Rodman and Steve-O, whoever the hell that is.

How does that refute what he said? There's nothing ethically wrong with what they're doing. And right now, during the Olympics, is the only time you can get away with something like this, so they might as well do it. If they tried this after the Olympics, then for all we know, they would be made to disappear.

Place your back to the flag the the blue field should be on your right hand side. Its own right means when you face the flag onto the wall it's blue field should always be on you left hand side. Imagine you are shaking hands with the flag and it shakes with the right. Hold out your right hand and if the flag's field is not opposite that its wrong.
