Recondite War discussion thread Mk II

You know, those two guards at the bottom of the stairs look pretty out of it, this would be a good time to take more prisoners...
...Screw it. I'm tired of interrogating prisoners and they're a pain in the ass to haul around with us. Besides, we're supposed to be Ecclesiarchy witchfinders, taking more prisoners than absolutely necessary might blow our cover.
That's my excuse and I'm sticking by it.

Sick as a dog, by the way, so if I don't post it's because I haven't the willpower to get on the computer. Don't wait up for me if I take too long.

I apologize, but I will not be able to reply for awhile. Personal matter. If it's not too much bother if someone could just NPC me, I'm not quite sure when I'll be able to get back.
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

But then you'd keep rolling 1s for damage, and not getting past the enemy's toughness.

It's when I PM you saying Crom's failed his willpower test to avoid being controlled by his gun, that you should worry.Zablorg wrote:Okay, so the one shot I make when it's not important blows off the guy's finger.
Are we sure my guns are not demons?
...
That would make a FUCKYEAH plot point, right there.

Of course, it would help if the techpriest and Crom were on the same floor...
And, behold. Plot.

Huh. Well, off the die roll at the time, he's very nearly dead then. Edited the original damage description to reflect this.
You still fluffed horribly this time, as is right and proper.

Get the Veggie asking for the emporer's mercy to give you some good reason for us to be nice and give it to him, rather then shipping him off to be a penetent engine or a servator. I'm sure that the images of fire, slow burning and the suggestion that even after they have scooped out his brain and hardwired all those bionics his soul would still be aware and suffering until he's properly earned his redemption.
after all I don't think you need a ballistics check to send him to the Traitor's Gate.
Oh beyond that, we've got a definat aristo asshole stewing in the next room, we just want to ask him and her seperatly who they and the other are. this is known as we know that our bad boy son of a planetary big wig is tied to these heretics, and if we can get the kid well then we have a real meal in front of us.

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
My point was, the guy downstairs is screaming about something coming from the warp, we know we're here to capture and probably cleanse Kinge, there's psyker activity and gunfire in the basement, and you're going to let the one who's probably Kinge have a couple minutes? We're pretending to be Witch hunters, and we're actually inquisitorial adepts... it would be less in character NOT to set his ass on fire and search the naked chick for evidence of uh Heresy.
