I thought Benazir Bhutto started out fairly well, but came unraveled over time ...

There's Angela Merkel, who one can say hasn't done a bad job but also hasn't really been tested much...

Corazon Aquino in the Philippenes... corrupt.

Golda Meier... weak.

Catharine the Great... effective, but... uncomfortable.

Part of the problem is, that "being in power" is such a "man's game" that any woman who wants to succeed must basically adopt men's power-seeking traits, so we're getting non-standard women as representatives.

We have to go back to old royalty to see a woman given power that she didn't have to "act male" to get, and with that we mostly have the British Royalty, Boadiccea, Livia, Cleopatra, Nefertiti, and Hatshepsut... and we don't really know what they were like.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Dude, it's the Philippines. Everything is corrupt, probably even the water. Which... explains a lot of things.

Our current President is also a lady of short stature, for all that's worth.

Don't forget Wu Zhao, the only woman to ever be crowned Emperor of China.
The problem I see with trying to analyse these ancient female rulers is determining what exactly can be called masculine traits. Livia and Wu, for instance, excercised power for a long time by manipulating their own male relatives or male officials. Now, a number of men have excercised power from behind the throne, so does that make this a male or female way of ruling, or can you not class it as either?

I thought your current President is among the most lame duck of presidents, compared to Ramos.

Then again.... to have no corruption would probably mean sacking everyone in office.... and not in office.
