I find it hard to think that there were not more people that knew about this, like his co-workers, that should have stopped it.HOUSTON -- Precinct 4 Constable Ron Hickman said Monday that former Deputy Terrence Richardson and another man have been accused of ripping off drug dealers and taking their money.
Apparently, they would find out where 'drug buys' were going down, show up and rob the dealers.
He said Richardson is believed to have been doing this while on duty, using his patrol car and wearing his uniform.
After the Houston Police Department learned about the allegations, they set up a sting. Investigators said they caught him doing his dirty work early Monday evening.
HPD has not confirmed what charges Richardson is facing. The one concern the department has is that Richardson has been in the precinct for two years and has worked several cases. The constable’s office will have to go back and check to see if any of those cases were compromised.
"He's a good guy. I don't believe he had done something like that. This is news to me. I would have never thought that he would be involved in something like this," said James Warren, Richardson's stepfather.
Terrence Richardson was removed from the department Monday night.
Although I do know why none of the deputies victims reported these incidents as they were in the process of slinging dope and wouldn't want to draw attention to themselves.
I am curious as to who this "other man" is that was working with Richardson on these robberies.
I know HPD has not announced what they are charging him with yet and that is probably because the Feds are going to step in with something like Official Oppression, in addition to the aggravated robbery charges.
For those that claim any officer using excessive force (especially if it is their first time doing so) is obviously corrupt, this is a much, much better example of police corruption. I will post updates as I see them provided.
