Well, I did a rough draft of the New Continent for people there:




However, if you don't mind me joining you in the New Continent, there's two options I threw together. One is a fairly basic one, the other makes things, how do I say, interesting

Anyway, I need somebody for my northern border. Who else is on the Old Continent, so that I can stick them there?

It'd be nice if you'd label it. I'm pretty sure of who Stas is, and can guess on Fingolfin and Coyote. But I haven't a clue about the rest of yous mugs.

PeZook I recommend the United Republics of Anticlere and Cybiades (Pollux), unless you added it.

I'm also kinda reluctant to start or enter more than 1 alliance.

Slavic National Confederacy could also work - in that case it would include me, Shady, Fingolfin and PeZook could easily become a member should he be so willing.

So, SNC be it. It's sign is the Trilistnik (three-leaf), an old slavic symbol of unity (I made one emblem for it during the last game IIRC). Probably something like that (slightly modified Trilistnik for the new game).


That would also make history of the Old Continent meaningful with so many slavic nations banding together.

That's what we had, more or less.

At any rate, if you're the dark green on your map (Phong, obviously) I see no reason why Wilkens would be split like that; I would've just taken FL (actually as you can see I was already going to have FL anyway).

Even if he was it wouldn't matter. Unless you're the bright green or something. But how the heck would we justify that historically?

And what about you going to the real New Continent (Old Dominion and Shepistan one...Frequese is it's own thing and we're a "Fourth" Continent)?

Crap, there aren't enough maps around, I have no clue where to put me! That said, it really would be better if you guys had something to tie your forces down at home, otherwise your continent gives you all de facto island status - neither Steve nor Marius have the ability to do much to you and incoprporating the IRT into it would force you to leave significant assets at home.

As it is, you guys all have extremely flexibility that many other nations don't.

I'll be a player, but not as active as last time (I got a mapmaker positions which was cool, but maps do take a lot of time). I'll make my OOB tomorrow (basically borrow one and put Russian tech into it).

I'll trust Shady not to abuse my power. I'll enter a pact called "Red Faction" with him (Crimson Star Republic + USSR, seems allright to me), and play from work when I have lunchtime (I eat much faster than 1 hour, anyway).

The "Red Faction" it is. I'm there just to help put when you don't have the time.

Map updated. Stas is still called "Technocracy", but i'll change it for the next version

I'm working with nothing but a thinkpad here, so it may look a little rough.

Map v. very, very early

The blue inkstain between the USSR, Technocracy and me are the Border States (super-chechnya)

I'll put together the New Continent first, then paste in Frequesque and finally add all the island nations. Note that while I try to keep the scale true, I'm not as awesome as Stas, and some land areas may be rough approximations at best. Fortunately, we live in the industrial age, so land area doesn't matter as much

Basically, I'll wait until people post some stuff in here and figure out the political situation (friend/foe/neutral so to say, resource rivals, ideological rivals, who are the other great powers).

But I guess my stance is evident in the opening post. Imagine the USSR in the Andropov era - slightly more technically advanced, but with a lot of social problems like ethnic tensions, rising political opposition (I never eliminated the Eser from the political map and so they seek to further their agenda).

My economic difficulties are not dire, but I am on my way from becoming something like a "who gives a fuck what they think" nation, kinda like Japan and most others, with little say on the world stage.

But I do not want to push us into war (we already had a war, but with the British Empire or it's equivalent, not Nazis like OTL USSR. If someone plays a British Empire copy, or anything similar, or a former colony of a huge Empire situated next to me - please tell me, I'd like to figure out the historical details and write a common war history).

I am intent on re-invigorating this nation, restoring it's prestige and disallowing people sapping my power and/or resources, but could I pull it off? That's the question.

Can't handle two alliances... only one. If I join the FUN, the SNC won't exist any longer..

Also, I see my upper-west borders are still open. I kindly ask for my mid-XX century imperial rival (or former colony of said imperial rival) to place itself there so that my nation might have a meaningful history.

It's not like I'm going to invade them over the slightest provocation. But the game needs opposition, it needs tension and historic conflict and grievances. The FTO hates the old world since they're mostly post-colonial shitholes who blame the old dudes for their situation but imagine if there was a superpower amongst them. Oh, there'd be so much angst!

Actually everybody waged war on Shady(because I started them). The explanation is long and complicated so I suggest you read PeZook's history, most of the stuff you need to know is in there.

Anyhow, would you mind if I park a massive naval base at Antioch which is not too far off? If you want, we can work out a deal in terms of protection, cooperation and stuff. Just so that in case I end up going to war in the east, I won't ruffle any feathers.
