To get bumped one level you must meet either criteria exactly, no sliding scale between them.
I'd agree to not less than 100 posts below phase-shift and not less than 3 years of membership on the board. Although I'd qualify for an upgrade under the other system I don't quite feel that that standard is sufficient to be considered "borderline."
Well, I think it is because we do have some cases where the differences between postcounts for a qualifer become very extreme. I'm prepared to let you and Norseman have Principalities, though if you like I can change it to 250 instead of 300 and you'll stay with a Duchy.
Does anyone object to that?

No objections from me.

Under the presently adopted conventions, Norseman is eligible for a longevity promotion from Duchy to Principality. Nobody else presently in the game is eligible for a longevity promotion, though anyone who received one before this codification of the rules may retain their's.

I'm confused. Does this mean I get upgraded to Principality? (With the 250 posts thing.)

I don't believe so as you do not meet the longevity requirement.

The Duchess of Zeon wrote:Correct. You have to have joined by July of 2004 to meet the 250 post requirement, or July of 2005 to meet the 100 post requirement.
And President Shinra has a flashback to the old Nova Terra and the days of the UAR, temporarily forgetting that Skimmer and Shep aren't actually allied. Still, since they didn't get any further south than Shroomania, even if Japanistan noticed there's no need for alarm.
EDIT: And since my embassy was hit *grumble gumble* I'm looking for reparations too.

Zoria and that other place lack name labels, along with MESSamerica.
Zoria's position looks funny. But I can live with it!

School just restarted for me, so SDN World is kinda taking a backseat for now. That, and I'm just plain frustrated by the point system for orders of battle.
I did make a basic map, however. I'll go and get it up first, then try to figure out just what my military will be made of. Again, I'm perfectly willing to just dump the points altogether and try to do some budgeting.

I love having the Falklands Islands in there, Shep!
Speaking of continent-to-ocean ratio, why not just put in a couple good-size continent with some major NPC countries in there that are technically too big for us to challenge? I can help Marina come up with some backstory for some grand Allied Municipalities of Concordia something-or-other superpower nation that can be a sort of global hegemony with a soft touch, stays largely out of affairs but can be used as a Moderator foil...

Dudes, can I have a legacy Iowa-class battleship? It's not really modernized, and is more of a ceremonial vessel having served gloriously in the Second War of the World.

Not all of us followed the point system wholely anyhow. Skimmer and Shep didn't, and so did Setzer and me.

I used it to give me a ballpark idea of active-duty units, and once I had a good idea of what to limit my self around, went from there. I think the point system is a good way to get you started "in the ballpark" but not a tie that binds you.

Yeah, that's no problem at all. Have your battleship.

While aircraft carriers, with their decks, can make great museums, I don't know how good a battleship can serve in that function.
I'm certain those 16-inch guns will be plain awesome in shooting giant fireworks into the sky, though

Maybe we can build a Chunnel, or could one already exist between our two nations?

Awww poopy. Oh well, I'll make eight before too long. I figure I'll keep my OOB numbers similar and just focus on upgrading my forces.
