The Republic of Alaska will soon be offering for sale the CV-142C Tiltwing Transport Plane. (Export variant of the the CV-142B, which is the production version of the XC-142). This V/STOL Transport has a cargo bay of 30 ft long, 7.5 ft wide, 7 ft high, and 8,000 lbs load capacity. Very effective for a variety of roles, all while being safer than a conventional helicopter, or a V-22.

For those of you paying attention to the Cascadian History posts in the History Thread, lack of detailed history among everyone else has me leery of adding too much detail.

Basically Cascadia, in the 19th Century, established an enclave/colony on the big Untamed Continent, aka Velestria, that was known as New Olympia. Depending on if they're PCs or not, either the blue or purple island to the west of MESSamerica also had a Cascadian naval post and possible small colonial region.

Sometime in 1916, given WW1 was raging in at least the Old Continent, there was a brief warscare that led to a general strike in Seattle, Vancouver, and a couple other cities, fomented by Socialist agitators opposed to Cascadian military action.

Years later, in World War II, Cascadia aligned with the Allies, probably a benevolent neutral at first and becoming a belligerent over time. Aside from a potential colonial campaign in Velestria or the nearby islands, my concept was that Cascadia's main effort in the war ended up being a contribution of troops to the fighting on the Impact Crater Continent, joining Allied/MESS forces in offensives/counteroffensives that forced Shepistan to the negotiating table (the Cascadian military contribution was likely a full Army formation, which I figure is realistic given that Canada managed to field the 1st Canadian Army in Europe in 1944-1945), centerpieced by the full Cascadian Republic Guard Corps.

This was the point in history when Cascadia may have joined the MESS alliance. But that possibility was eliminated by the post-war treaty settlements, when Cascadian interests in Velestria and the Pacific (Western) Ocean islands between Velestria and MESSamerica were mostly ignored in the treaty arrangements. Though Cascadia got some terms, the Republic was not given everything it desired from the arrangements (not unsurprising; Lonestar for one, I think it was him anyway, gave the idea that the MESS powers may have very well seen little reason to give Cascadia some of what it wanted if it hadn't entered the war at an earlier time or contributed very much until late) and so it soured on the initial considerations of aligning with MESS.

In the years since Cascadia granted New Olympia independence (as well as the island colony enclave if it ahd one), likely in the same timeframe that the other empires of the civilized world gave up on their possessions in Velestria and Frequesue, though it maintains its own economic influences in Velestria and the islands of the Pacific. Cascadia, due to those interests and influence, has maintained a decent Navy that has waxed and waned in capability over the years, though it has now recovered under supportive government programs that have given it two aircraft carriers and amphibious operations capability (the carriers are non-nuclear versions of France's Charles de Gaulle, which have some amphibious assault capability, and the Cascadian Navy has LPDs as well).

Relations with the rest of the world are cordial, mostly. Tian Xia remains relatively friendly, if relations are sometimes distance and cool in their cordiality, though there is always the potential for some niggling thing to provoke a round of diplomatic fussing. The Shinra Republic is a close friend of Cascadia and the two nations enjoy considerable trade links as well as joint projects of economic, scientific, and even military value (Cascadia is a junior partner in the Joint Strike Fighter program and will receive an initial order of eight F-35Cs for its carrier fleet as they are made available). Alaska is, I believe I arranged with Marius, an old trading partner that Cascadia enjoys decent relations with, and there may even be some joint navy operations revolving around ocean Search-and-Rescue missions. Relations with Wilkonia may be slightly more distance due to lack of a common border, but unless there is overlap in our oceanic interests I see no reason for anything but a friendly relationship. We probably maintain cordial relations with most other countries save Astaria, Japanistan, and Shepistan. Hell, we probably don't even mind engaging in trade links with those damned dirty Commies of the Crimson Star Republic. 8) (Stas - ;)).

Current tension points are probably only in keeping things quiet in Velestria, where the carriers are typically deployed to when they're not in the home waters, and participation in the ongoing three-way dispute with Alaska and Tian Xia over fishing rights and economic use of the waters in the extreme northeast Pacific.

Japanistan relies very heavily on railroads, I’d assume connections exist to the rest of the continent but service may not be regular, or at least not dependable owing to civil unrest in the Mid East. If would be so very dangerous if a piece of Japanistan owned track was to be damaged…
Which part of Japanistan IS Japanistan, and which part is New Sumatra, anyway? :
New Sumatra is the islands name, with the same size as the real Sumatra and very similar topography (mainland Japanistan is less similar to its real equivalent countries). It is not and never was a singled unified country, it was a series of Christian and Muslim kingdoms which lorded over the local population and Japanistani settlers for 500 years. Japanistan occupied the area from time to time, but the current operation began in 1972 and was followed by formal annexation (via the formation of the Co Prosperity Sphere) and settlement of really large numbers of Japanistanis. The New Sumatra Special Section Zone encompasses the entire island and surrounding waters
And what say you of anabolic steroids being the new bane of Shroomanian society? :)
But one of Japanistanis many fine self destructive chemical products.

Whatever this conference is, I just got in, Japanistan will attend it.

If in fact a large chunk is run by something resembling real governments, that’s fine, but I figure the coast can’t be nearly occupied end to end, it wouldn’t be an untamed land at all by that point.

Fair enough. The interior is of course a hideous death-zone still.

Yeah, that was kinda my idea for the continent. A death-land with perhaps a few shitholeistani countries which never amounted to anything because any city larger than 200 people got decimated by disease, so it's almost all stone-age tribes, and some people on the continent with semi-modern amenities thanks to exploiting resources which are actually accessible.

Tis okay, considering that the Zorians probably abducted aborigines themselves and raised them "properly" in the presence of "civilized people" or something.

Maybe Zoria could've been founded by Shroomanian convicts! Then Zoria could have all sorts of ridiculously killy and poisonous animuls, like tarantulas that infest swimming pools, and poisonous half-duck half-beaver creatures, and all those man-eating things you love so much. DINGODILES!

Haha, you built a phallic sub so big that it can't even squeeze out of its own port! Try putting some lube on it, mang!

Oh, yeah. I was thinking of a potential NPC nation in the Untamed Continents.

Chindia Bangalore

It's like Bangladesh, with an enormous population density. It used to be a Shroomanian colony, until, like, it had a civil war because the Maharaja was a dick or something - and it probably had something to do with white elephants. Then a horrible plague broke out and stuff and the country basically imploded.

Shroomania left and let the country die.

Um, then we'd sort of return after the Second War of the World, since a friendly government was established there. So, it was part of the Commonwealth. Then Goddamn Communists (Stas!) started stirring up shit, and so we had Commie Chindian Charlies ruining shit.

There would be the Saijing Airlift as we got our people the fuck out of there, and then that's that.

Afterwards, the Commie Chindian Charlies probably ruined their own country and now they're our equivalent of Burma - a perpetual war in the jungle.

So, yeah. It's my Vietnam. Maybe Canissia or some other MESS nation could've lent a hand. Like, after Shroomania got out of there like the French in Indochina, the MESS could've tried supporting South Bangalore - but then we'd have the Tit Offensive and then, that was that.

The end of imperialism!

Today, Chindia Bangalore would be ruled by this guy:

I am sure i can shoehorn in some Penal Colonization somewhere. Zoria did have a fair number of indentured servents brought in.

Zoria has alot of creatures based off the Marsupials that lived in Australia about 50,000 years ago (as well as a few creations of my own on those lines), but did not die out, among them includes...

-Giant Wombats that weigh a Tonne
-Giant Predatory Ducks
-Marsupial Lions and Leopards
-Zorian Dragons (giant Monitor Lizards)
-Really big turtles
-Eagle Billed Platypuses (filling the same role Snapping turtles do)

Though I reckon that there would be archaelogical expeditions.

Depth. It's beam was 65 feet. Reworking it to be more like the Typhoon has caused it to shink to a draft of 40.5 feet; which can get through most ports in the world.

Hah, I just knew it people would jump at the chance to expose their explorers to horrible flesh-eating disease and carnivorous plants ;)

As for the map, I can't guarantee it will be done today, but the only additions will be Norseman, Langley, labels and some superficial detail, so the one that Marina posted is pretty much good to go.

Damn, I need someone to help me with my military (including old caches of obsolete out-phased technology) due to a drastic lack of time - I never really got into the PTS system, it's complicated and requires a few hours of spare time... which I haven't got. :(

Could someone help me out, preferrably with knowledge of WARPAC equipment and orders (Shep? Skimmer? If you have free time of course)

Basically the military is like the USSR, but roughly 2-3 times more powerful (judging by the amount of economic resources I have), with most increases going to the Navy which fields 3 operable "Ulyanovsk" CVNs and all the stuff I think it should, and the Airforce, which is far more powerful and is stuffed partly with latest bombers like the Tu-160M, but the Tu-95 remaining in great quantities due to "bomber buildup".

I have stocks of old equipment, but unlike the USSR, I've mostly done the phase out of old stuff so they are not as numerous as the Soviet ones.

Since I don't know where to go, if I don't have a more or less well-defined starting point.
