Mass Effect graphics problem

Post by Vympel »

Since getting my new video card, I've found that when I zoom in when using my assault rifle in Mass Effect, the muzzle flash is waaaay too bright, it's very distracting. Anyone know how to turn it down?

Did you try fiddling with gamma values? I'm just grateful the "film grain" effect has an off switch. If there ever was a feature designed specifically to fuck up your eyesight that was it.
But if the forces of evil should rise again, to cast a shadow on the heart of the city.

Do you mean the bloom on the flash texture is too bright because it's so large on the screen, or that the flash washes out the rest of the screen?

That's a good question. It's very large on the screen. Because it's colourful (depending on what type of round you're using - the green chemical rounds have the worst results) it tends to obscure the view. And it is bright, my eyes definitely respond unfavorably.
