Tie between the Panzer IV and T-34. The poor little M1's 37mm cannon is very outmatched. Thing makes the Panzer II look good. :D

You never said which M1..

As for my own opinion. Marina O'Leary, for both her Star Wars work and her Tarrantry work. Now of course my opinion is slightly skewed, as I'm the kind of person who actually reads Jutland an analysis of the fighting cover to cover, in one night.

Why is Kaz not on the list? Star Destroyers Rampant is hands down the best fanfic ever. I'd go so far as to say that it's the best thing anyone has ever written in any media. If the pyramids are, in fact, messages from advanced extraterestrial lifeforms, I've no doubt that they would hang their heads in shame that they were unable to live up to SDR.

Chuck you know that RSA's eventually "reality" fanfic will be better so lets reserve giving out the title for now.

I'll go with Stravo.

For one, I haven't read any of the others except Conquest, and it made both universes seem to cold and all the people seemed just, blaah.

Star Crossed, is very well written, it stays true to both universe's flavor, and it is surprising.

What is this Portal and why is everyone acting like its plutonium?

Portal is the antithesis of every other great work of vs. fanfic. It is the antimatter to Conquest/Star Crossed/Worlds without end's matter. I implore you for the sake of your sanity not to read it...BUT if you must I defy you to get past page one without having insanity induced convulsions drive you to the floor wriggling like a gutted fish.

It holds to every Trekkie wank fest fantasy that has been debunked over the years, particularly the whole laser vs. ST shields thing for one. I don;t want to remember too much...its so very painful. The only good thing about Portal was that it inspired me to make sure that Star Crossed is the best I can make it every time.

Thanks for your vote BTW.

It's difficult to select from such fine authors (barring Kennedy), but if I had to choose...well..

January and Marina are too techy for me, but Fist of the Empire has a pretty good storyline. Mike January's endings tend to be sucky.

StarCrossed is certainly good, but Stravo is a bit too new for the sort of Fanfic God status that everyone here's given him. I certainly respect and enjoy his work, and hope to see more out of him, don't get me wrong - he's just a bit too new in these old eyes!

Mike only wrote the one story - with one of the goddamn best endings I have ever seen - but just one, however good it was.

Chuck Sonnenburg, however...a whole, delicately interconnected trilogy, which ties in with a second trilogy currently under production, encompassing some of the best romance and the deepest characters I've ever seen with a kickass storyline...I have to go with Chuck.

Portal was the first Star Wars vs Star Trek fanfic I read in my life. Therefore it holds a special meaning to me. Back then a couple years ago it didn't feel that bad, but now I have a slightly different opinion of it. Even if Portal is a pile of shit, it made me interested of other SW vs ST fanfics and websites, such as SD.net.

Since Wong has bumped this up to attack a ten post troll that had a long leave of absence...

Setzer, the M1 I'm referring too is the original US Army M1 tank, of late 30's vintage. It didn't even have a main gun, just two .30 cal machine guns.
