Year of Hell time ship vs the empire

Post by Shrykull »

Any thoughts on this? Why was it exactly that the ship controlled by Annorex in the Year of Hell Voyager episode was impervious to Voyager's weapons, what kind of weapons could damage it? Could the superlaser? I mentioned this once and someone said it would be immune to everything in the universe, what about the force, would it be impervious to that too?

And also, about it's main armament it can erase something from time (like the crono legionaires in red alert 2) so it could erase the whole death star and bring Alderaan back, and in Star Wars, did humans evolve on Coruscant, if so it could wipe out everything on that planet (while being impervious to all the ISD's pounding it) and make sure the old republic, and the empire never existed, and also, it could even make sure the force never existed by erasing the first midi-chlorians.

It never moved around more than a century or two AFAIK. What difference would that make? And how does anyone know any of this happened at all, since there is no record of anything happening? It could have been nothing but a bad dream, like "All Good Things".

I'm just asking a hypothetical question, if it does exist and does attack the empire what could they do about it?[/i]

In year of hell I remember they wiped entire species out of existence, and I remember Annorex was telling Chakotay(sp?) if he had erased a comet that he would have altered (or eliminated) the existence of several species/civilizations And, also, nothing they erased would effect them, he has stuff on his ship from species he has erased, which should have ceased to exist after he wiped them out. But what would happen if he stepped out of the ship. He was also 300 years old and had been erasing for a few centuries.

More proof that it was a delusion. Since when is an action performed with a single comet going to wipe out several species, unless all of those species happen to live in the same place?

Chunks of the comet fell apart along the way on the comet's orbit and those chunks caused species-extinction impacts? Comet orbits can get REALLY large. Just noticing.

But when it hits a planet it stops going round and round.....

Only possibile way it could cause many species is if it interacted with something else and its a chain of events thats stopped.....which I think was the idea that he was going for in the dialouge....fuck with one little thing and then everything it screwed with does different things.....after all a comet does have a gravitational affect on everything else in the universe tiny though that affect is

What about culture shifts by it? Remember those nuts who thought that Halle-bop was a religiously signifigant thing and committed suicide over it? If it was seen to have religious implications by stone-bronze age civilizations, it's nonexistence could alter their culture, which could lead them down the path to self destruction or something.

The Timeship worked by calculating what their Temporal Incursions would have on the timestream, yes?

So, even if the Timeship never existed and even if Annorex wanted to blow stuff up at random... there'd been major spacefaring civilizations in the Star Wars galaxy for tens of thousands of years. That's FAR more complicated of a scenario for their "temporal computers" to work on than the few centuries that they were focused on in the episode... and even with their work focusing on only a few centuries, they STILL weren't completely accurate in their attacks.

Ergo, I would propose that the Timeship would be unable to accurately predict exactly what their Temporal Incursion weapon would do, rendering their ability to kill the Empire in one go completely useless. Hell, at best, they MIGHT be able to destroy the Empire, but at what cost? That'd just result in the Old Republic returning to existence. What then? OR Jedi would find a way to take the sucker out. And even if they eliminated the OR, as well... what would that create? A SITH Empire, in which case the Timeship is ROYALLY fucked.

Nope, they'd wipe out the old republic too since it was based on coruscant, they could wipe out everyone and everything on Coruscant, returning it to a pristine state, and who were the first settlers of Coruscant, it's older than the old republic, isn't it?

What then? OR Jedi would find a way to take the sucker out.

is it just me, or did anyone else have trouble taking the timeship captain seriously seeing that it was Red 'You're a dumbass' Foreman from That 70's Show?

I don't see why not. The Force obviously works outside of the natural flow of time, hence the ability to sense the future.

Annorax and his pitiful ship would be killed in an instant, but Red Forman would kick (dumb)ass in the Star Wars universe (if he kicks ass everywhere else, why not there too? :) )

Assuming the Krenim Temporal-Weapon Ship would survive long enough to actually reach a a target of importance then, in my opinion, it could do a hell of alot of damage...

And one more thing could give them the advantage:
On the Time Ship:
"I'm reading a fleet of ships heading our way," Obris said.

"Analysis," Annorax said.

"3 Nahydron warships, 2 Mawassi Cruisers and Voyager," Obris replied.

"We're impervious to their weapons, let them come," Annorax said. Chakotay nodded at Obris. He started working.

"I know Captain Janeway, she wouldn't be attacking unless she knew she could do some damage," Chakotay said.
The Krenim Temporal-Weapon Ship was impervious to standard forms of weaponry, Voyager and her allied "fleet" had to modify their weapons to have any effect... I doubt the Empire would be able to modify their weapons as I doubt they posess the knowledge to accomplish the task.

The ship existed outside the time stream. The only time Voyager & co. were able to samage it was when it was sabatoged and it dropped into realspace. That's also why they apparently could change history without being affected themselves.

As far as the apparent not aging, it could be that the species was exceptionally long lived compared to humans. Remeber that AFTER the original timeline was restored Annorax was still the same age as he was on the timeship.

Ahhh yes that's right it was the "being outside the time-stream" that made it immune to weapons... Sorry my bad.

Either way, The Empire wouldn't be able to shoot her down so I think the Krenim ship would clean the Empire's clocks if it could find a suitable target.

I already pointed out how it would be nigh impossible for the Krenim ship to find a "suitable targe". It could barely calculate a temporal incursion with only three centuries' worth of data to work from... imagine having to do so with three HUNDRED centuries worth.

In short, it can't do it.

At worst, the Krenim ship will be a nuisance.

Of course these guys refuse to accept the multiple time line theory. They don't accept anything that contradicts their precious beliefs. How creationist of them.
