360 price cuts in effect
I'm not sure if MS's overall price slash went into effect, or if it's an Amazon thing, but I noticed that the prices are something like:
Arcade = $199
Premium 20 GB = $259
Premium 60 GB = $299
Elite = $399
Anyway, just thought I'd throw a head's up out there.

Welcome to 3 weeks ago. That price drop is industry wide though, Gamestop has them as well for that price.

I already knew that the price cut was coming up (since I was in the same thread ). I just noticed that it was up on Amazon and wasn't sure if everyone else had it as well or if it was an Amazon special. Nor did I see a thread mentioning it so I thought I'd post it so people would know it's out.General Zod wrote:Welcome to 3 weeks ago. I was thinking the same thing. I mentioned to Vendy in the other thread that while my 360 is running fine (has been since day one) it's also the older pre-HDMI model. So a newer version with even more space at that price is seriously tempting. I'll likely just stick with what I got, but who knows...DPDarkPrimus wrote:$299 for the 60 gig Premium is a hell of a deal.

same here. I had a few close calls with the RROD but turns out it was a power cord problem. But I want a larger hard drive and the HDMI port, I keep having to delete stuff for new games.apocolypse wrote:I was thinking the same thing. For just playing games on the system and over Xbox Live and downloading the occasional demo or whatever here and there, a 20 gig is more than enough. It all comes down to how much other content you think you may download off of Xbox Live. You can get full HD movies, Anime and TV shows as well as a crapload of other games and demos and other various shit and that can fill up a 20 gig drive pretty quick if you are into that stuff. (Granted you have to be in the USA to get most of the TV shows and movies, but Canada has had access to a growning number of movies for a while now, no TV shows or Anime yet sadly)DesertFly wrote:How essential is the 120 GB drive of the elite compared to the 60 GB premium as far as size goes? I've been holding out getting one until I could afford the Elite, but I may have to give in for the $100 dollar cheaper one.
As well, with the big upcoming Fall Dashboard update, you will be able to basically copy your games to the 360 hard drive and play them off the system directly minimizing load times and if you have a multi disc game, the need for the other discs IIRC.
