Well Sea Skimmer it is about time you unveiled the sort of ridiculous vehicles you had as Sadaamistan! At 90 tons ( )I wouldn't want to actually drive that monstrosity anywhere. The tank might supposedly be proof against most missiles and guns, radar dishes are ever so fragile though(a sniper with a .50 cal could be problematic).
What does Japanistan intend to do with such a beast?

Japanistan has more railways then any other nation on earth I assure you, and while its 20 tons heavier then an Abrams, other then the length of the gun barrel (which can be taken apart for good reason… its 20 feet long and most of that is outside the turret) the dimensions overall are not dramatically bigger. The main issue is bridging (also a serious issue for 70 tonners) but Japanistan will be building special tactical ferries for the vehicles use, in addition to providing the tank with a robust snorkeling capability.Raj Ahten wrote:Well Sea Skimmer it is about time you unveiled the sort of ridiculous vehicles you had as Sadaamistan! That is an issue, but the radar folds under armor to protect it from snipers and artillery fragments alike when its not needed (this is what that roof bulge is), just like the radar on the Russian Khrizantema anti tank missile vehicle. Its not any more vulnerable then a FLIR unit on any other tank or the radars various active protection systems require anyway. I’d rather a sniper kills my radar then a trained tank commander with his head out of the hatch. Plus even if the antenna is damaged, that’s the cheaper part of a radar since this isn’t an AESA set, the expensive stuff is inside the turret. In real life the French Leceler tank has been offered with an fixed antenna battlefield surveillance radar, as have a few other vehicles, but no ones bought that kind of capability yet.The tank might supposedly be proof against most missiles and guns, radar dishes are ever so fragile though(a sniper with a .50 cal could be problematic).

Well whatever Ill amend my map when I next it to claim more depth instead; its only to my advantage to have that base be further west anyway.Steve wrote: Save that from the beginning I stated that Van Halstoff was formerly Shinra territory.

Aircraft hijackings? You're in luck. There's a LOT PeZookian Airlines Boeing 767 flight going from Orena to an unspecified destination. You're too late to get Miss Kruszewski, but the people who just boarded that flight are fair game.Raj Ahten wrote:I see attacks by rebels inside Sea Skimmers big cities or a number of spectacular aircraft hijacking worldwide (or something similiar) by the Sumatran rebels to get the world's attention in the future.

Slight note: most Polish (and PeZookian) names transform by gender, so it's going to be Ms. Kruszewska.
And I'd really advise against aircraft hijackings (for hostages, anyway). It's suicide.
It's far easier, safer and more spectacular to abduct civilians and/or government officials and behead them on video, if you want to shock people...
But airplanes...well, airplanes have this poor quality which makes them land in places. And really, wherever you land, you will die.
Of course, if your goal is to bring attention to brutal Japanistani or Shepistani methods, you can land there and have their special forces storm the airplane with hand grenades

Delivery plans: SAM systems
S-300PMU-2: $125 million per regimental PVO battery (1 command post, 6x4-tube launchers), a PVO regiment can include 2 to 6 batteries (48 to 144 missile tubes).
With mid-range 9M96E2 series missile, the number of missiles in a tube can be quadrupled, thus creating a strenth of 192 to 576 missiles per PVO regiment with the same number of tubes.
Simultaneously engaged targets: 6 per battery, 12 tracked per battery.
With 6 batteries using a central regimental radar: 100 tracked, 36 engaged.
S-400 (with long-range 400 km missile): $200 million per regimental PVO battery. Same missile numbers apply, same rules for mid-range 9M96E2 series missiles - quadruple the number of missiles.
Simultaneously engaged targets: 12 per battery, 40 tracked.
With 6 batteries using a central regimental radar, 50-60 can be engaged simultaneously.
-------------------------------------------------------
Nations:
Indhopal: Special Mutual Assistance and Cooperation Agreement can be signed. This means the price paid and the number of units delivered would be determined by the political will of the respective parties.
San Dorado: $200 million per battery, 8 batteries. Total proposed sum: $1602 million (delivery costs included).
Duchy of Langley: proposal includes either an $500 million 2x S-300PMU divisions with 2 batteries each, or an $800 million for the same with S-400.
Vineyards: same as above proposal.
Duchy of Baerne: same as above.
P.S. Consider the Black Sea talks issue agreed. I dont' want to quarrel much over an internal sea between me and Byzantium which is frankly a Slavic National Confederacy inner defense object and poses no danger so far.

Just to be clear though, in case of a conflict with a MESS nation (say Beowulf, since he props up Westchester) would you be legally obliged to attack me?Same here.
Because in that case I would have to create a Black Sea Navy etc. etc.
If the SNC commitments at least ensure you stay neutral in a possible war, there's little reason to fear.
I would likewise not attack you if a war between the MESS and me happened.
Sure, but later today.S-300VM

And if it comes to the head, I'm going go neutral. There's no way I will get involved in a conflict with a neighbour. Not in my strategic interest.

Captain Pisano is a woman, Stas, for the record. Was the highest ranking combat-line female officer in the PRSF Navy. Carlotta is a female name, the feminine of Carlos, IIRC.

Hmm...do you think we could go down to 2.5 years thanks to modern computer modelling and manufacturing techniques?Stas Bush wrote:About rocketsThe Proton required 5 years from the engineering conception (UR-200>UR-500>UR-500K) and that was after the R-7 was already stable (and the whole cycle was a 1957-1966 span). So 2013 should see us on the Moon.
Technically with the 1980s level engineering this should be shorter for both development cycles, but indeed at least 5 years are needed to perfect designs.
This cuts down on a lot of prototyping, small-scale tests, etc.
Plus, you can stick thousands of small computerized sensors into a missile prototype, allowing you to figure out problems even if the entire thing blows up.
It's fortunate the R-7 can support pretty much the entire moon program save LM tests and actually going to the Moon
Hell, it can even loft small probes around the Moon: Luna probes were all launched with the R-7.

Counter-proposal: $750 million, six S-300PMU batteries this year. Another $750 million will be paid next year for another six batteries. Also, I'll soon be needing new planes to replace my F-4s and F-111s; while Shroomanian F-15 ACTIVEs and F-16XLs are tempting, I'd like to check out the latest MiG and Sukhoi offerings first before I make a final decision. I'm also interested in looking at some Antonov products as well.

A total of 12 S-300PMU-2 batteries? Sure. With the PMU-2, central radar come as a given. Same as most arms shipments work. Payment - now. First 4-launcher batery shipped prior to the end of this year (maybe even in several weeks). Skimmer, some questions on that new tank of yours.
1. Are you running an electrical drive so that you can power it with two engines?
2. So essentially your new... Land Dominance vehicle is a moving artillery piece/tank?
3. Is that post public or secret?
4. The K-2 Black Panther I employ apparently has a milliband radar system that can be used to target helicopters. Is that similar to what you have on that behemoth?
