Administrative Minutiae (post Labor Day edition)
Hello All,
With the holiday behind us and summer unofficially over figured I woudl bring up a few notes so that everyone is up to speed.
1) I have my computer back up and functioning with all files available. This means that if there are any votes anyone wants to get started please motion, get a second, and notify me.
2) With that a reminder on folks currently listed as "Inactive"
: InnerBrat (based on conseuctive misses)
: Stravo (based on consecutive misses)
: The Duchess of Zeon (by request)
: Zaia (based on consecutive misses)
3) What does "inactive" mean? I've mentioned it before but I'm going to put it out there again. "Inactive" is a designation solely in regards to counting votes for quorum. The designation is not in any way related to posting access to the forum, I don't control that (nor do i want to) so even if someone is labelled "Inactive" there is no physical means of preventing a vote or a post (nor should there be)
What it does mean is that for each vote when quorum is calculated it is based off of the voter roll which I maintain. The only way thse status will affect the forum is that if there are 12 consecutive months of inactivity that are not by request then I will begin discussions about removal from the Senate and movement to Emeritus status.

For someone "inactive" Duchess is very noisy.
Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Hence the (by request) bit.LadyTevar wrote:For someone "inactive" Duchess is very noisy.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Duchess wanted a break from Senate duties, not from the board, as I'm sure you remember.LadyTevar wrote:For someone "inactive" Duchess is very noisy.

Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.- Malcolm Reynolds, Captain of Serenity, which sums up my feelings regarding the lawsuit discussed here.

Oh, I had only wanted to be inactive through mid-August. Please reactivate me.

Please review what "Inactive" means . Again, and I know there was a smiley but I want to re-stress "Inactive has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on a person's ability to post in the Senate. The designation is SOLELY for purposes of determining quorum.LadyTevar wrote:For someone "inactive" Duchess is very noisy.
Also Marina, I just went back and double checked my notes and you did ask for only 3 months so my bad, that should have been the 26th.

Addendum solely for the current votes buyt I had the voter rolls incorrect and there are 51 active votes which means quorum is 26 votes.
