T:SCC Season 2 premiere (spoilers)

Post by Thanas »

The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 premiere will be shown at 8:00 EDT today.
The Connors deal with the aftermath of Sarkissian's attack, and Agent Ellison allies with Charley Dixon. CEO Catherine Weaver starts a new division of her technology company ZeiraCorp.
The episode has the name Samson and Delilah, alluring of course to the biblical tale of the hero who looses his powers to the seducing temptress.

So please watch and review. And although there is a poll, please post your rating of the episode in this thread as well.

As an aside, I love the 5-2 rating system. It just says 'And people who hate the show, fuck off' so eloquently.

I second that poster above.

Fuck me sideway, I didn't expect that Weaver would turn out to be a T-1000.

I dunno. With the exception of the Glauminator surviving the explosion more intact than not, I thought it was a balls out second season premiere. Add in a little machine ex machina of it overriding the terminate command and I have to back my rating to a 4.

Can't say I care for the T-1000 being back in time and not terminating the Connors either. But all that's merely opinion. I'm enjoying it despite what I think are flaws as they are minor. The rest of the writing and drama are entertaining enough.

Quite good. I little bit heavy on the "revisiting shots from Terminator movies" and "characters reuniting," but the revelation at the end was fucking awesome. I'm scared, hold me.

Again I will go with the sentiment of "this show way better that it god damn should be".

It was pretty much my entire feelings of the first season. I went in with rock bottom expectations and was treated with something I really feel belongs as a continuation of the first two movies. And then it ended with what I feel is one of the greatest moments in television(having the SWAT team fall into the pool as Johnny Cash sings about Armageddon was more powerful than any action scene could of been).

So going into Season 2 my expectations are up. Can the show still live up?

So far it hasn't let me down. Very good at keeping everything tense, even knowing John/Sarah aren't going to die and Cameron will be rebooted at the end, the show still keeps those scenes as tense. The characters behave intelligently, use knowledge gained in previous episodes(electrocution, go for the chip). John continues to grow into who he's suppose to be.

I had actually been excited the past week about this and had been thinking about a T-1000 in the series. If they would do it and would they be able to do it well on a TV show budget(the CGI Exoskeletons haven't been anything to write home about, but I'll give it a pass because it is TV). But I never thought she would be one and it game as a genuine surprise when it was reveals.

5/5, again, better than I thought it could be.

Also I like the new opening narration(with the bit about Skynet sending robots back to kill him and one to save him) a lot more.

My sentiments exactly. I thought Weaver was acting a bit....off....during most of her scenes, and that should have been a clue, but I didn't see that coming.

Personally, I think the most disturbingly awesome part was where Cameron was pinned between the two trucks and was pleading with John to not remove her chip. Brought me back to some of Glau's best work as River in Firefly.

Great episode. I have to echo what everyone says about the premiere, but I want to add that Summer fucking sold that 'I love you and you love me' scene.

Incidentally, I like the development of Ellison, too. I'm a bit surprised that he tracked down Cromartie again, but I like the way that it looks like he might start developing an obsession with hunting him down.

Yes, I was also very happy that John made the right decision and pulled the chip and it wasn't until John had some time to repair it a little before she was back to normal.

I dunno. It seemed more like Cromartie tracked him down since Ellison was a bit surprised to see him, and also the conversation they had would imply that Cromartie plans to use Ellison to find John.

Now that's the way to start off a season!

When I saw the urinal starting to morph, the first thoughts through my mind were "Oh, that's not good." Didn't expect it to be her though. This development will be interesting.

Me and my wife both guessed Weaver was a Terminator. As for why she isn't going after John, I think he job is now to bring about Skynet. Bringing attention to herself by, well, going after John Conner, would hinder that plan. The Skynet's Terminators will complete the mission they are assigned.

Glau absolutely nailed the truck scene. Best part of the episode as far as I'm concerned. I figured Weaver was a Terminator from the first glimpse but I didn't figure on her being a T-1000. This spells out trouble.

That's was my thought as well. Her being a T-1000 was a surprise though.

The real interesting part to me was the next episode preview, where it looks like Weaver is trying to get Ellisson to help her hunt down another Terminator. Cromartie, maybe?

Stabbing someone through the eye in the bogs isn't going to do much for her ability to stay underneath the radar. Admittedly, there's little chance that she's going to be rumbled (who's going to be able to put that together?) but it seemed a bit random to me for someone who's not wanting to attract too much attention.

Skynet sending a T-1000 back may explain why no matter what the resistance does, Skynet ALWAYS manages to come into being.

The Hell? Another T-1000? Wasn't it just a prototype in the first place?

Oh, right. Time travel. Never mind.

I don't think anyone ever said it was a prototype.
