T:SCC Season 2 premiere (spoilers)

Ooh, plus Sarah saying that the Terminator was better than any of the father figures she'd tried to introduce into John's life. She definitely revised her opinion as the movie went on.

I realize that they want to avoid showing the T2 Terminator in flashbacks and such, but they could at least acknowledge him IMO. Without him they really would have no precedent for trusting Cameron or keeping her around.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Sarah mention Uncle Bob in one of her monologues? I think it was during the final part of the episode that ends with Cameron dancing ballet.

On another note, I saw Season 2 Episode 1 again and I think I and many others missed the point of that episode at first glance. Cameron "going bad" is a big Red Herring, as the end of the show is really about Sarah and John coming to terms with the fact that they killed Sarkissian. Derek had a big speech in the previous episode about how Sarah is "innocent" and has never taken a human life.

What I suspect happened (and we'll eventually see in some kind of flashback) is that John killed Sarkissian to protect his mother, which he sees as an irrevocable turning point in his life (hence the hair-cutting). It also makes John less "innocent" than Sarah, and I think it contributes to John's inability to destroy Cameron at the end (and Sarah's not stopping him).

Sorry if someone already mentioned something along these lines, I didn't want to comb the thread again.

What if she never was reprogrammed, what if Skynet made a machine too intelligent for it's own good that decided itself not to carry out it's termination command and to assist the resistance.

I'd actually noticed this too, and I definitely liked how John seemed to be going through the initial stages of the psychological reactions one would expect from someone who had just been forced to kill a person with their bare hands, as well as seeing one of the few people you really trust suddenly trying to kill you.

That really hit me as I watched the episode, because Terminator 2 made it a point to have John be "innocent" while its obvious that will have to change for him to be a military commander like future Connor was, and be ruthless enough to actually send your own father and uncle back in time to perpeptuate the resistance, knowing full well that they'll likely get killed.

Like Anarchist Bunny said, this show is way goddamn better than it should be.

That is certainly a possibility. However, we do not know anything about Cameron at all. We do not know where she was built, who built her, what her capabilities are, her motivations, her past (future) history with Reese or Connor, if she was reprogrammed....she is the huge unknown. Heck, at this point we know more about Catherine Weaver than about Cameron.

All we can do is speculate, which is pretty much pointless because we have nothing to go on.

With the exception of Derek's flashbacks and her own behavior, all the information we have on Cameron comes from Cameron herself, so its pretty unreliable.

As best we know, Cameron or a model just like her was in use by Skynet as an infiltrator, judging by Derek's reaction to her. And I'm still convinced that there's some major connection between her and whatever happened to Derek in that basement.

Yeh I vaguely remember that.

What made me think it was that she overrode the Termination command.

She still had her personality and her memories so it's not like her chip was wiped to default when she was attacked, it appears all that happened was that it got dirty by the way John was "repairing" it so her full thought processes weren't taking place. It's something i'd love them to revisit.

Yeah...never thought grown men would be terrified by Chopin. Also, I am convinced Andy Goode had something to do with her. The fact that he just happened to be a prisoner as well as Derek seems to huge a coincidence to me. Maybe Skynet used its creator to build a new model? After all, there were dumb Terminators doing the dirty work there. At this point I am willing to bet that's what happened and that Cameron left the axe there.

I will say I was annoyed that she can tell male from female blood just by looking at it. Can she see chromosomes, or what?

Or maybe she has a good nose. Possible hormonal differences between male and female blood might help her tell the difference.
