I asked if we ever see proof that Anakin figures out that Palapatine was playing him.

Well fuckhead NEITHER of these show us that Vader figured out he was being played. One shows that he was not above trying to manipulate the Emperor (ESB) and the other shows that in the end Vader has never rid himself of Anakins love for friends and family and that when absolutely forced to chose that he wont turn his back on them (ROTJ).


Neither one demonstrates that Vader realizes that the entire war was created and run from both sides by Palpatine. Neither one demostrates that he ever figures out that Palpatine through his apprentice Tyrannus tried on multiple ocassions to murder his wife Padme. Neither one shows us ANYTHING that proves Vader realizes he was played like a harp by Palpatine from the moment he met him in Phantom Menace right down to the patheticly obvious stroking of Anakins 5 year old ego.

I think he knew what had happened. Obi-wan gets he when he tells Padme that Palpi was behind everything. Vader must have figured it out, but his mindset must have been to obey his master and learn from the scheme, not to avenge the Republic. After all, he disliked the Republic and the Jedi and to him the new order was the right thing for the Galaxy even back in Ep III.

as for the whiner here, as early as the novel "Dark Lord" (set just after EP3) Darth Vader had a pretty clear picture that Sidious was indeed behind the clone wars, he's just not stupid enough to go "You tricked me! now die, waaaghh!" and end electrecuted to death.
